Ryan Reynolds On The PG-13 Petition Created For DEADPOOL: "I Don’t Think So"

Fans got together and created a petition so that Fox's Deadpool could have a PG-13 version, and be enjoyed by all fans, all ages. Ryan Reynolds, at an NYC Deadpool fan event, spoke on the petition and revealed a prominent reason why that would be doltish. Check it out!

Ryan Reynold recently attended a NYC Deadpool fan event, that eventually showed off a surprise screening for next month's film. While he was there, fans asked what he thinks about the petition a group of people made to get Deadpool to have a PG-13 cut. Reynolds responded, and revealed the main reason why such a thing isn't possible. "I don’t think so. I mean, you saw it," referring to the people who attended the screening. "That would be a very short movie. It’s almost a commercial at that point."

If you're a fan of Deadpool and knows how the character is in the comics, you'd probably ask, "Why would someone even make this type of petition?" Well, it seems as if Reynolds gave credit to the mom who put all of this together - something the fans haven't done. "People are ragging on her – I think that’s an awesome mom. When I was 8 years old, I wanted to see 9 ½ Weeks, but my mom didn’t make a petition!" He's got a good point there! What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano, and Brianna Hildebrand, Deadpool is set to be released on February 12th, 2016.

Poor kid will have to wait 10 years before actually seeing it. Though, in reality, they'll probably see it at a friends house in like 3-4 years.

Yeah he basically says that it wouldn't be possible. I don't blame those that were asking for it though.

My parent's didn't give a [frick] about ratings. NC-17 was the limit but I saw like four R-rated movies when I was 6-7, Terminator, Friday The 13th, Fullmetal Jacket (heavy shit, man), and Gangs of New York.

Dumb ass petition.

My parents let me watch whatever I wanted growing up, and I've only been arrested 5 times. I turned out fine.

Petitions really are as useful as used toilet paper.
And this really was all a big joke to begin with. That kid can wait until he's older to watch it.
It's like saying "Let's also make Blade and Punisher PG-13 too! They're Marvel! And superheroes and they're for kids!" No.

I respect people that want to make a PG-13 version because of the younger fans but the creators of this film made a R rated adventure and having to make a different lesser version is not fair to people that will see it R, when the movie is released they can buy or rent the movie and tell the kids to cover there ears or eyes
