Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has officially announced today that Maleficent: Mistress of Evil will arrive on Digital HD on New Year's Eve, December 31st, and will then make its way to 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on January 14.

The Angelina Jolie-led sequel, which received mixed critical reviews, has proven to be a surprising sleeper success for Disney, has grossed over $480.6 million at the worldwide box office ($111.6M domestic; $369M foreign) to date on an estimated $185 million production budget. So, despite being a far cry from the blockbuster success of its predecessor, this should still make it a profitable endeavor for the House of Mouse.

As for special features, the combo pack will include two extended sequences from the movie, four behind-the-scenes featurettes, hilarious outtakes and the "You Can't Stop The Girl" music video performed by Bebe Rexha.

Target always has the best looking special edition covers. Except Far From Home...no retailer had any good looking covers. Sony released some of the ugliest posters for it too. That movie was so good and has such an ugly bluray cover.

@SonOfAGif - Ya they've been really dropping the ball on the posters for the MCU Spider-Man films, which is weird cuz I thought the posters for the Raimi and Amazing Spider-Man films all had pretty cool posters?... I don't know, maybe they're having interns make the new ones lol

480mil off a $180 million budget doesn’t seem like a win for Disney.

@whynot - Well of course it’s a win. I mean I know most people grade Disney on a curve when most of their movies this year made over a billion but between this box office, the merchandise, the blu-Ray sales, and this being something more the feed the beast that is Disney+ it’s going to make them a chunk of change. This ended up grossing more than movies like It Chapter 2, Detective Pikachu, Godzilla, Secret Life of Pets 2 and Shazam so people did see it, they got eyeballs on it.

@TheUnworthyThor - well yes absolutely but I’m Shazam defense the budget was smaller. My point was that when Disney made Malificent I’m sure they thought it was gonna make them some big bucks maybe not a billion but the first film cracked 700mil. So I’m sure they put in such a high budget for a reason. Movie studios aren’t in the buisness of breaking even or making small profits. I can tell ya with that budget they were expecting to make some $ off this. A movie needs make 3x its budget to start producing profit. 3x180 is roughly 560 million. This movie probably loss Disney $ or barely broke even
