DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS' Rotten Tomatoes Score Has Been Revealed DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS' Rotten Tomatoes Score Has Been Revealed

With the first wave of reviews now counted, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has a Rotten Tomatoes score, and while it will no doubt end up changing, here's where the sequel currently sits...

The first reviews for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness have been very good, though it's certainly not getting the sort of overwhelming praise Spider-Man: No Way Home did last December.

As we explained in our review roundup, it sounds like the sheer spectacle and Sam Raimi's penchant for horror make up for any possible weaknesses in the screenplay. The cameos, meanwhile, aren't quite as wild as the rumours suggested, but should still leave fans happy by the time all is said and done. Overall, it sounds like a great sequel, and Thursday evening can't get here fast enough.

In the meantime, the initial Rotten Tomatoes score for the Doctor Strange sequel has been revealed.

While this is bound to change as more critics continue to weigh in, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness currently sits at an impressive 84%. That's more than enough to bring it into "Certified Fresh" territory, and we're sure that will happen at some point in the next few days.

Love or hate Rotten Tomatoes, it's become a huge part of whether moviegoers decide to see the latest releases in theaters. Morbius had all the makings of a hit coming off the back of Spider-Man: No Way Home, but overwhelmingly negative reviews meant it opened to dire box office numbers. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, on the other hand, already looks set to be a hit.

What do you think the movie's final score will be on the review aggregator?

Whiplash from the sudden turn from "Movie sucks because too many cameos" to "Movie sucks because not enough cameos."

I would have guessed 86%. I was close. Haven't seen it yet

Good score but it's early so it could go any number of directions

It's really cool to see Marvel continue to tell stories that seem untethered to the need to appeal to all audiences. They've been there and done that, and in Phase 4 it seems like they really are leaning into more specific corners of genre filmmaking. I tried showing my family Moon Knight last night and found myself skipping waaaaaayyyy more parts of it than I remember thinking I'd need to. We'll always have Phases 1/2/3 to capture the various shades of the old feeling but this new era really feels much more distinctive on a project by project basis

I remember being anxious that this was gonna be too much easter egg/cameo/set-up and not enough Strange and Wanda, glad to see that the consensus so far suggests otherwise. I saw somewhere that Raimi's name is mentioned in these reviews a lot more than any other MCU director - sans maybe Zhao - and that's very exciting to me. Definitely ready to argue about Wanda's 2021-22 journey in the weeks to come.

Also, rewatched the first one just a mere days ago, it's actually really nicely shot and has a lot of - restrained - fun with its concepts!

Rotten reviews are going HARD...like, damn

https://nypost.com/2022/05/03/doctor-strange-sequel-is-one-of-the-years-worst/

A lot of reviews seem to agree that it was a mistake to base the movie so much on a TV show about a character that is not related in any shape or form to Dr Strange...most general audiences didnt saw Wandavision, and if you didnt see Wandavision, you wont understand the premise of this movie, add to that a messy narrative consequence of 6 weeks of reshoots, and...well...
