Henry Cavill as Kal-El / Clark Kent / Superman

Born as Kal-El on the planet Krypton, he was sent at 6 month old to Earth in a small ship containing the Crystal of Knowledge in suspended animation. He was found by Kansas farmers Jonathan and Martha Kent who raised him as Clark Kent and taught him strong principles. After graduating Kansas Unviersity with a degree in Journalism and Astronamy, he decided to travel the world to fully understand the human race, himself and his evolving super powers. At the age of 29, he arrives Metropolis as a temporary reporter and is partnered with Lois Lane. It is here he finds his place in the world as a super hero. Needing a disguise, he returns home for help and he and his mother design a costume and he becomes Superman. He soon takes down robbers and crooks before gaining evidence against Bruno Manheim and Lex Luthor who both hold a grudge against Superman. Before their war can continue, the Earth stands still at the sight of an alien ship above Metropolis and Brainiac, an alien AI looking for the Crystal of Knowledge. Superman's foes then team together to take down the good for nothing hero.
Emily Blunt as Lois Lane
The eldest daughter of 4 star General Samuel Lane, she is a down on her luck reporter at the Daily Planet who is struggling to go anywhere. Her luck changes when new reporter Clark Kent is partnered with her and the sudden appearance of a super powered hero who saves Lois gives her the springboard to stardom. Dubbing him Superman, she is the Planet's most talked about reporter and begins to get exclusive after exclusive on Superman. She is soon entangled in a war between Superman who is being targeted by the alien AI Brainiac and Lex Luthor which turns nasty with the Earth at stake.
Jason Isaacs as Lex Luthor
Lex Luthor was born in the downtrodden Suicide Slums area of Metropolis with best friend Bruno Manheim. They both turned to crime and Lex being the abitious backstabber that he is, killed his boss and stole his money and created his company, LexCorp. Giving the Gang to Bruno, the two formed an effective partnership and LexCorp was turned into one of the most richest company's in the world thanks to illegal tactics and numerous goverment contracts. When Superman arrives on the scene, Lex at first tries to employ Superman but he refuses and Superman soon gets evidence incriminating Lex which he gives to Lois Lane who happily reports it in the Daily Planet. His reputation in embers, Lex's grudge against Superman and Lois is born and soon is forced to team with the alien Brainiac to build him a new body and destroy Superman to save the Earth.
Corey Burton as Brainiac (Voice)

Brainiac was created on the planet Colu and served as a giant supercomputer that ran the planet for centuries. After studying the universe and seeing its imperfections, Brainiac created a body and laid slain to the Coluan race before creating a ship and leaving the planet and destroying it but saving all its vital data. He then proceed to find other planets with lifeforms and destroy them after taking their knowledge. He came across Krypton and quickly realised the amazing technology it had but didn't expect the backlash from its army. Brainiac was too powerful and quickly ripped apart their army. The battle was just enough delay for the scientist Jor-El to send his son and Krypton's all powerful crystal containing all their technology to Earth. Brainiac was tricked into taking a fake crystal and blew up the planet before searching the universe for the real crystal destroying numerous other worlds before coming across earth and Superman who it recognises as the owner of the crystal.
Scarlett Johannson as Mercy Graves
Mercy Graves is the Personal Assistant and bodyguard to business mogul Lex Luthor. Trained in over 15 martial arts, her killing beauty and stunning looks are not to be underestimated as her dazzling legs will take you down in seconds. Fiercly loyal to Lex, she will do anything for him and protect him no matter what.
Anton Yelchin as Jimmy Olsen
Jimmy Olsen is a former intern at the Daily Planet who has been working at the Planet for a year. He is a down on his look photographer who frequently with equally unlucky reporter Lois Lane for stories. They are on the verge of being fired for their bad reporting skills until the arrival of Superman. Lois is the first person to write a full article and Olsen is the first to capture a decent picture of the media phenomenom and both are instantly projected into stardom.
Tom Hardy as John Corben
John Corben is a British reporter who transferred from The Telegraph 2 years ago and is the Planet's top reporter, why? Because he gets all of the Lex Luthor expose's and exclusives into his life and company LexCorp mainly because he is under Lex's payroll to publically portray him as a nice guy. Corben though, is a selfish person who aims to get the best for him and tries to discredit Lois Lane and Clark Kent and get the scoops on Superman for himself and will go to any lengths and trod on anybody including Luthor to get them.
Robert De Niro as Perry White
The hard boiled Editor in Chief of the Daily Planet, he takes nothing but the best from his reporters who are under pressure to deliver to his high standards. Since his appointment, he has transformed the Daily Planet restoring it to its former glory but it has since declined with the recent times of the Internet taking much of the business. Since Superman's arrival and his exclusives to reporter Lois Lane, the Planet is again blossoming.
Ed Harris as General Samuel Lane
A 4 star General and a non nonsense father of Lois Lane and her sister Lucy. Wife Ella died giving birth to Lucy and the General sent both to boarding school to grow up as he buried himself in work. Now head of the army's Research & Development division, he is frequently in contact with LexCorp who always end up being the army's main partner. He also leads the attack on Brainiac and his Skull Ship when it begins attacking Metropolis.
Eric Bana as Bruno Manheim
Bruno Manheim is the founder and leader of Intergang, a Metropolis based Mafia gang with very abitious plans to expand beyond Metropolis. He was a childhood friend of Lex Luthor wih both growing up in the rough Suicide Slums area of Metropolis. As Lex managed to forge a life of luxury as CEO and founder of LexCorp, he only managed it through the activities of Manheim, who helped destroy other businesses for Lex's benefit. In return, Manheim recieve all the latest technology from LexCorp and the funding to make Intergang the biggest gang in Metropolis.
Maura Tierney as Det. Maggie Sawyer
Det. Sawyer is a Star City Police graduate who transferred to Metropolis and since has been partnered with Dan Turpin proving to be an effective partnership boasting the best record in the force. She has been on a personal crusade to take down crime lord Bruno Manheim after he murdered her girlfriend but couldn't be tied to the murder due to lack of evidence. When Superman arrives on the scene, she is a supporter of his activites as oppose to partner Turpin.
Michael Rooker as Det. Dan Turpin
A no nonsense Detective, he and partner Maggie Sawyer have been partnered since they graduate the Police Academy and hold the best arrest record in the Metropolis PD. He is at first unwanting of the help by Superman believing that the Police can handle it without the help of Superman.
Bruce Greenwood as Jonathan Kent
The 6th generation of Kent Farmers to run the family farm, he is the principal stone head of the Kent family and husband to Martha. They found a young alien boy who they took in naming him Clark. When Clark returned with plans to save the world from depression and despair, Jonathan was inspired but disapointed saying that Clark would be taken by the authorities and experimented on and they would be arrested.
Susan Sarandon as Martha Kent
The loyal wife of Kansas farmer Jonathan Kent, Martha is a city girl turned farmer who gave up everything to be with Jonathan. They found a small boy inside a spacecraft and took him in as their own naming him Clark Kent. When Clark decides to help the world as a heroic figure to inspire hope, Martha creates him a costume to conceal his true identity.
Ashley Massaro as Cat Grant
Cat is a Metropolis University graduate and the Daily Planet's gossip columnist. She graduated in the same class as Lois Lane but the two share a common hatred of each other, with Cat doing what ever it takes to further her career, mostly Graduating by sleeping with the tutor which got her job at the Daily Planet and with Lois a down on her luck reporter, likes to remind her of her Gossip success.
Joe Manganiello as Steve Lombard
Steve is the hothead of the Daily Planet newsroom and is the paper's main Sports Reporter. Steve is a former Football star who injured his knee ending his career and since has turned into a 5 star asshole. He likes to tease the other staff like Ron Troupe before setting his sights on the new geek, Clark Kent. He also sexual persues Lois Lane and Cat Grant.
Dileep Rao as Ron Troupe
Ron is the quiet and hard working member of the Daily Planet staff who focuses on Poltical articles for the paper. He makes friends with Clark Kent quickly as the two share a kind nature and a mutual respect.
Mark Harman as Jor-El
Jor-El is the Biological father to Kal-El known as Clark Kent on Earth. He doesn't appear in full form in the film until the final scene in which Clark has flown to the Arctic Circle to hide the Crystal of Knowledge from everybody, it grows into the Fortress of Solitude. After Clark enters and accidentally touches a crystal, the Jor-El programme is activated and a hologram appears in front of Clark which says "Welcome home, Kal-El".
