I'd like to get it out now that i'd never be for a re-boot, the cast is just for fun. I know there are alot of star wars fanboys are on here, and even I myself love them, so don't get all crazy. Anyways I did this cast way back when and looking back, honestly, it sucked so I re-did it and tried my best to jack it up with what it would need if it were really happening, talent. I've now updated the cast with a couple more characters.
A long time ago...
Hunter Parrish is Luke Skywalker
Parrish is so far an under-rated young dude who reminds me of a young Hamill through his acting style. Watching him through Weeds I see that he has a ton of talent just waiting to be shown, and though I haven't seen it, his play, 'Spring Awakening', has gotten him great reviews.
Lyndsy Fonseca is Leia Organa
Leia needs someone who's amazingly beautiful and can have the same feisty attitude of which Fonseca fits like a glove, and would be hot in the Slave outfit.
Tom Hardy is Han Solo
Tom has the same smart-aleck charm as Harrison Ford in Inception, and is in my opinion the only person who can make Han as awesome as Ford did.
Jeremy Irons is Ben Kenobi
Kenobi needs the kind of actor that has a mentor aura to him, as well as tons of gravitas, which is exactly the kind of actor the brilliant Irons is. However as an American choice I offer up....
Jeff Bridges is Ben Kenobi
Bridges who is an awesome actor and would be a pretty badass Kenobi, the dude has tons of charisma and just oozes Kenobi to me. You guys tell me in the comments who you'd prefer.
Mark Hamill is Yoda
Come on, who else could possibly be considered than the old Luke himself? He's become an absolutely amazing voice actor and is literally the only one who should do this. He's Perfect.
Stephen Fry is C3PO
If you know who he is, than you know he's one funny british man, and he's seriously just frickin awesome. He'd be bloody brilliant and funny as the intelligent droid.
Doug Jones is Chewbacca
Doug is probably really obvious, however I beliee he has what it takes to be this generations chewey and he's awesome at otherworldly creatures, and since he's never given the chance it would be awesome for him to do the voice.
Idris Elba is Lando Calrissian
Lando can be a badass dude. Gambler, Entrepreneur, Badass. And Elba is one of the coolest dudes around, who can be just as smooth as Billy Dee, imo, and as obvious as this is, he could be a definitive Lando.
Jeffrey Donovan is Admiral Ackbar
Now, this version of Ackbar is less cheese. I imagine Ackbar would be a no-crap, serious Leader, which I think would make it even more funny when he utters his famous line, 'It's a Trap!' And Donovan fit the criteria pretty well, the dudes badass on Burn Notice, and would be here too.
Garrett Hedlund is Anakin Skywalker
Hayden Christensen is just a bad actor, period. Garrett would have made the character 100 times more enjoyable, because the dude has undeniable screen presence to portray the young Vader.
Jennifer Lawrence is Padme Amidala
Lawrence is definitely a promising up-and-comer and after watching her in Winters Bone and First Class, I see she's got an undeniable talent that would work great for Padme. Plus she's hot.
Viggo Mortensen is Qui-Gon Jinn
Viggo's already become a legend of acting, and while I had no problem with Liam (in fact his Qui-Gon was frickin awesome) Viggo would be equally as great, if not more.
James McAvoy is Obi-Wan Kenobi
I've been watching alot of McAvoy's work and he's instantly become one of my favorite actors as the dude is something special to watch on-screen and was absolutely perfect as Xavier in First Class imo. He's the only one to fill Ewan's shoes, who was probably the best part of the original trilogy.
Colin Salmon is Mace Windu
As much as I love Sam as an actor, he just kind of played a toned-down version of himself again, so I would love to see Colin's interpretation. Speaking of Colin, the dude is a under-rated man who has an icredible aura of classyness that would work perfectly for Windu. He was even bestowed the best man to be a black James Bond by Pierce Brosnan.
Danny Masterson is Jar Jar Binks
This might seem like a weird choice, however I decided to re-invent Jar Jar. Alot of people hated him, and although I had no problem with him, I can see the cheese in him, and would prefer for him to be this rebellious type character, who is banished for such, and he wants to be a hero, and would have a more sarcastic attitude and humor. In the end he'd redeem himelf by being a complete badass in leading the Gungans and the rest would play out the same. So for this more serious Binks I think Masterson is perfect for, who already has a sarcastic and rebellious thing down.
Alan Rickman is Count Dooku
I loved Christopher Lee as Dooku, however Rickman is as great an actor to be the ruthless man, and I think his distinct voice would be as awesome as Lee's.
Ian Anthony Dale is Darth Maul
I think Ian's slowly getting more traction as an actor, and is really phenomenal on-screen. I started watching him as Scorpion on the MK web-series and he has an amazing voice for Maul as well as a knowledge in Martial Arts. I think he'd be a pretty badass Maul as well as look really sinister in the Make-up.
Gary Oldman is Grand Moff Tarkin
Oldman doesn't really look much the part, but he's an amazing actor, and if you've seen Book of Eli even as a somewhat small villan he stands out, and i'd love to see him do this as even more insane and put his presence to good use.
Peter Mensah is Jabba The Hutt
The dude's under-rated as hell, but I mostly cast him because his voice sounds really great for Jabba, and could make the gangster even more nasty.
Tony Todd is Boba Fett
So this might seem weird to you, but since he'd be under the helmet anyway I decided to break free from the ethnitcity lock. I feel that Tony's deep voice and scary presence combined with his stature would make for one mean, awesome and memorable Fett. Plus the guy needs more roles seeing as he's terribly under-rrated and a better actor than most of hollywods current bunch.
John Hurt is Emperor Palpatine
Hurts another actor who needs more roles, and who i'd watch anything in cause he's so brilliant, and would truly be ruthless and creepy as Palpatine.
Christopher Judge is Darth Vader
Now I didn't want to go with anyone who's painfully obvious for Vader. I thought and thought and I feel that Judge is the best choice for a modern Vader, with his huge stature and build, and even voice that rivals James Earle Jones' he'd be perfect on-screen.
Hugo Weaving is Anakin Skywalker (Adult)
Hugo's just an amazing actor, period, and it would be refreshing to see him as a redeemed man instead of a villain for a change, plus he has the right look for the un-helmeted Vader, and although a small role, it'd be an amazing performance.
