Lets kick things off with the Casting. First off is the main cast for the film.
There is only one person to fill the boots of the exiting Brandon Routh.. Henry Cavill. Hollywoods nearly man who has missed out on the Man of Steel before is now ready to rise up and make believe believe a man can fly. At 6'1, he scrapes through on the height and everything else is more or less perfect.
There are plenty of candidates to play Lois Lane, but my choice is Olivia Wilde. This most likely won't be the choice as Nolan will go with big names but I can't think of anybody better suited than Wilde.
Now if you're telling me that picture above isn't Lex Luthor straight from the Comic then I need to see a doctor. Ralph Fiennes is the absolute perfect candidate for Lex and is a big name attached to the film and everything is absolute perfect. This is one villainous role Mark Strong doesn't have.
Needs to be a young actor with reddish hair. Yelchin is the best candidate and the most well known to own the role which I think he could own as Jimmy Olsen along with Wilde and Cavill as the dynamic trio.
Perry White is a difficult one to cast, there have been a lot of names brandied around such as Hugh Laurie (I think people choose because he was rumoured with SR). I went with Berenger because of his connection to Nolan and ended up back with Ed Harris who I can see perfect behind the Editor's desk.
Clint Eastwood can't get much bigger name. His performance in Gran Torino is the absolute essence of Jonathan Kent which is exactly what I would look for. Angry that Clark has left the farm and that he might be exposed.
Martha Kent is also a difficult choice, do you go younger like in Smallville or older like SR. I went for a bit of both in Sissy Spacek. I envision Martha as a natural beauty taken away to the farm in Smallville.
This role is a maybe role but I doubt would appear in Man of Steel but maybe future sequels. AnnaLynn McCord is the absolute best candidate for Kara Zor-El, she is drop dead georgous and can act but also has that look of strength.
Jor-El is likely to appear but isn't a certainty. It is most likely to be a small role in a flashback set during the film not in the first act due to the Court Appeal. Dennis Quaid seems like a good choice.
Again may appear next to Jor-El in the flashback but is likely to be a small role possibly non speaking much like Sara Stewart as Martha Wayne in Batman Begins. I went for Kelly Rowan.
Here is the rest of the cast. Trying to keep the article shorter, I won't include pictures.
John Corben - Channing Tatum
A reporter at the Daily Planet who has a love interest in Lois Lane. He is a clean reporter but occasionally delves into the underworld to get a story and doesn't take to Superman as a rival for Lois' affections.
Cat Grant - Kristen Bell
A rival reporter to Lois Lane at the Daily Planet who both Graduated Metropolis University together. She reports on the Gossip column.
Ron Troupe - Phil Morris
Another reporter at the Daily Planet, he is a Political reporter and is considered too smart to be just a reporter.
Steve Lombard - Joe Manganiello
Yes Flash Thompson from Spiderman, he is a Sports Reporter at the Daily Planet who often flirts with Lois and Cat and bullies Ron and Clark.
Det. Dan Turpin - Michael Rooker
A detective trying to get evidence on Bruno Manheim and the rest of Metropolis' mob and is partners with Maggie Sawyer and doesn't trust Superman and is occasional dirty cop.
Det. Maggie Sawyer - Alisen Down
Parter to Dan Turpin, she the only clean cop in Metropolis' Major Crimes Unit that doesn't occasionally make deals with the mob and robbers.
Here is a couple of Teaser Posters I made. One is with a picture of Brainiac and the other is a Superman symbol.

As Superman deals with the tests, Brainiac a super artifical intelligence that destroyed Superman's home planet arrives on earth, interrupting Luthor's tests leaving the world stood still. As Brainiac does nothing but scan the earth, sending drones across the planet, Lex Luthor uses this opportunity to accuse Superman as the first wave of the alien attack. When the planet's armed forces are put on full alert, Brainiac makes contact with Lex Luthor as the owner of the planet's most advanced technology. He tells Luthor he is searching for alien technology that holds the universes secrets and will spare his planet if he helps him find it. As Luthor explains the presence of Superman recently, Brianiac realises he is Kryptonian and has the knowledge he seeks. Brainiac makes contact with Superman by kidnapping Lois Lane after information provided by Luthor but Superman knows nothing of the knowlege he seeks. Brainiac offers Superman the chance to carry on the legacy of his planet with him in exchange for the unique knowledge of Earth. Superman denies him and battles the android who attacks Superman with all of his 30 drones attacking him extracting information from his brain conlcuding that the information is in his ship. As he sends drones to the Kent Farm, Superman battles the other 28 and goes after the drones arriving as they destroy the barn. As one leaves with the ship, the other holds Jonathan and Martha hostage but is destroyed with heat vision. Jonathan dies of a heart attack from the ordeal enraging Superman futher flying to Brainiac's Skull Ship to confront the AI personally. As Brainiac reveals Kal-El's origins, he battles Brainiac seeking revenge sending the ship crashing out of orbit and into the sea. As the two battle and Superman is getting on top, Brainiac has his drones kidnap Lois and Lex Luthor. As a stalemate arrives, Luthor realises that to survive he must side with Superman giving him the opportunity to Superman to destroy the main Brainiac and take the Kryptonian globe of knowledge with him before the ship self destructs. As he drops Lois and Luthor off at Metropolis, the globe begins to grow in Superman hands so he takes it to the artic away from civilization where it melts into the ice and grows into the Fortress of Solitude, a replica of Kryptonian arcitecture.
