So, this is mostly going to be a fanfic article with a few things that actually relate to, mostly, what Amy Pascal stated in her private memos or e-mails. I don't condone the hack nor do I feel like journalists should be condoning it either but the information is out there and I feel like it is fair game at this point, as awful as that sounds. With that out of the way, here goes!
The Spectacular Spider-Man
Release Date: December 25, 2017
In one of Pascal's private memos (again, I honestly am disgusted these are available to the public) she stated that, should Spider-Man be rebooted, they would need a script ready to go and shooting to begin in 2015/2016 with a 2017 release date cleared. So, given that, I would give the guys at Sony and the guys at Marvel the time to make something truly special. Have the final negotiations come to a close in January of 2015 and begin the script and pre-production of the new film immediately. Have Feige and the Russos come aboard as producers and kick Arad and Tolmach to the curb. Now, we're on track to develop a new series of Spider-Man films.
As for the story, I would start Peter it off by saying that it was right after the
Civil War storyline in the films that Peter got his powers. It was the end of his Freshman year in High School. Now, he is a Junior in High School about to go off on Christmas Break. The opening sequence can show newspaper clippings from the Daily Bugle of Spider-Man beating Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, the Lizard, Sandman, Rhino, Electro, Kraven and many other smaller feats. This would all be
The Incredible Hulk style opening sequence. The wind and snow can blow away the title and we see Peter Parker making his way to a cafe with Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn, his best friends. Introduce the dynamic between them at the start of the film before Peter looks out the window. We see Kingpin looking out the window and he starts saying how all these "vigilantes" have been really getting under his skin. We see flashes (product placement!) for Daredevil and all the other Netflix heroes culminating with Spider-Man and Kingpin saying especially Spider-Man. One man asks Kingpin what he wants to do and Kingpin tells him to eliminate him.
Peter Parker returns home and we see him throw his jacket onto his bedside table and a picture of Uncle Ben nearly falls on the floor. He jumps over and grabs it, setting it back on the table. He looks at it and is reminded of his failures to stop the thief that killed Uncle Ben. He looks over at a giant web that he put up on his wall of the criminal underworld which he pulls a curtain over to hide it from Aunt May. Many names have been scratched out with a "deceased" or "imprisoned" label on it, including Flink Marko and Aleksei Systevich. However, he looks up at the top and sees Kingpin. He shakes his head in disgust and lays down on his bed. Peter's police scanner goes off and he hears that a man is ripping apart Central Park with only a "vibrating device" as the police calls it. Peter snorts and heads out to Central Park.
Spider-Man arrives on the scene and takes down Shocker after a long battle and lots of property damage. Spider-Man turns around and the police approach him to arrest him. Spider-Man takes off and we get a demonstration of his spider sense as he dodges bullets. We see Captain Stacy tell the police officers to lay off and that Spider-Man didn't do anything but do their job for them. We, then, cut to J. Jonah Jameson talking over a news report about how Spider-Man had taken the law into his own hands and done the police's job for them. Peter walks in after the news report is completed and starts asking Jameson why he says all those things about Spider-Man. Jameson barks at him for not understanding the world and how it works. Peter eventually relents and gives Jameson the pictures which Jameson only takes one of and throws the rest in the trash. Peter pulls one out and we see Gwen and Peter looking over it.
Gwen compliments Peter on his photography abilities and Peter blushes when Harry shows up asking Peter if he studied for the Calculus final that period. Peter is clearly upset that he forgot about the final. Gwen tells Peter that she has only been telling him about it for the past week and a half and Peter replies that he was busy. Harry snorts that he was too busy taking pictures to work on his school work. Peter gets a B+ on the final, which disappoints him but he takes it in stride. He is pulled aside by his teacher who asks him what is going on. Peter tells him that he has just had a lot on his plate. It becomes increasingly clear that Peter has been obsessing over the criminal underworld more and more the past six months.

Mysterio shows up in the middle of a stockholders meeting with Wilson Fisk and tells Fisk that he will be coming after him and soon. Mysterio is laughed at and he prepares to kill somebody when Spider-Man shows up and stops Mysterio. Mysterio takes the fight to the middle of the Financial District and Spider-Man is once again forced to fight in public. Everytime Mysterio is about to kill someone, Spider-Man deflects it but often causes a lot of property damage. Spider-Man is unable to defeat Mysterio but Mysterio claims he has other places to be and causes an explosion that launches Spider-Man backwards. When the smoke dissipates, Mysterio is gone.
Jameson begins his monologue before we see Peter talking to him about the pictures. Peter tries to defend Spider-Man but Jameson refuses to listen, taking the shot of Spider-Man getting blown backwards by the explosion as the shot he wants to use for his front page. Peter leaves again, angry about it. We see a dark figure in a prop house-ish lair talking aloud to himself about his next trick. He says that he is going to have to steal criminal evidence from Kingpin in order to bring him down so that he can take his place. However, the figure turns and places a picture that can be seen in the light of Spider-Man stating that first he will have to kill Spider-Man.
Mysterio sets up a showdown with Spider-Man in Times Square so the whole world can see. Spider-Man does show up and begins to have deal with large dragons and snakes. When a train shows up, however, to plow him over, Peter realizes that Mysterio is just a master of illusion and animatronics. Spider-Man calls him out on it and Mysterio replies by making seven versions of himself to fight him. Spider-Man destroys all the robots and then dodges all the illusions and deals with the real threats before he punches Mysterio's fish bowl and reveals his face. Nobody recognizes him, much to the annoyance of Beck who replies that he was part of a troubled movie production before Fisk bought it all up and cancelled his production.
The film ends on Christmas Eve when Peter gives May just one present and it is the picture of Uncle Ben that he saved from getting smashed. They embrace and the movie ends.
Obviously, the film will have more content to it than that with more Peter focused conversations with Aunt May and the like but that is pretty much how I'd like to see
Marvel take the franchise reins and do it. This is just the first film but I think this does perfectly fine for right now. What are your guys' thoughts on this? Do you like it? Let me know below!
