The Amazing Spider-Man came out earlier this month and instantly drew criticism from the start of production, It had a lot to live up to, a new director and cast had to perform against two of the comic book community’s and general movie reviewers favorite comic book movies Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2. What I plan on looking into today is my personal opinions on what I feel would make The Amazing Spider-Man 2 the best Spider-Man movie to date after being a Spider-Man fan since 4 years of age and him being one of my favorite super-heroes of all time, so let’s begin after a spoiler warning about the film and also about the future of Gwen Stacy.

#1) Keep Marc Webb as Director

Now I know this won’t be the most popular decision and my reasons may not seem to be the best to some fans, but if you’ve seen 500 days of summer, this man can direct romance between his actors. The reason I feel like this would be a good idea is because I feel like the connection between Gwen and Peter needs more establishing and a bigger connection to the audience for the emotional payoff of her *Spoiler* eventual death to have more effect and even reduce some members of the audience to tears. Sure Marc Webb may not be the best action director and if anything The Amazing Spider-Man was really lacking on fight scenes apart from the fight in the school, but if he can make all the fight scenes like the aforementioned scene then we are on the right track for a well-balanced movie combining all the character elements needed with the right story and fight scenes.

#2) Have Peter lose the battle against the villain the first time and consider giving up

I know this may seem a lot like Spider-Man 2, but since the films are drawing Inspiration from the Ditko era and the Ultimate comics I feel like they should take inspiration from Amazing Spider-Man #3 with him losing and getting destroyed throughout the first fight with the main villain. This would destroy his confidence and convince him to give up and stop being Spider-Man if he can’t beat the villain. Cue a guilt ridden Peter not knowing what to do and visiting his uncle’s grave, eventually overcoming his fear and going out to stop the villain, or to tie in to the ultimate universe you could somehow have Curt Conner’s tell him about The Suit, that was created from an unidentified substance found on a satellite that’s main purpose was to cure cancer and was worked on by an Edward Brock SR and Peter's father but when Richard was moved the project was abandoned (Tie into the parent angle). Spider-Man would then nearly kill the secondary villain realizing he has to get rid of the suit … Speaking of the villain

#3) Have Mysterio as the villain and Kraven as the supporting character if the Black suit is involved

Mysterio appears and beats him on a bridge reminiscent of the comics and TV show using the generic origin story just tweaked a little bit, Ie framing Spider-Man using his gadgets and special effects. He would then beat Spider-Man with ease in front of the general public, this would put Spider-Man into a state of depression before putting on "The Suit", when this happens he starts to get more and more aggressive whilst using the suit, then by using the template of Kraven in the Ultimate universe and presenting him as a seemingly real and imposing threat throughout the film, then the film would have Kraven find Spidey when he is wearing "The Suit" he almost kills Kraven before realizing he needs to get rid of it. This would then cause Mysterio to torture Spidey in their next battle by conjuring up visions of the black suit in this fight by using his special effects mixed with some of Kraven's mists and drugs which could give us a cameo of a Venom like creature, this would cause Spider-Man to gain inside courage and beat Mysterio despite it taking a toll on Spidey's well being.

#4) J.K Simmons as Jonah, Introduce the Daily Bugle

The title says it all

#5) Introduce Harry Osborn

Harry could possibly be used as a researcher looking for notes as to what happened during the Lizard outbreak, wants to know what he can do to save his dad’s life. The friendship could start from there and gradually grow, working in the lab for a possible cure. (Remember Peter doesn’t know that the Lizard formula was supposed to be a cure for Osborn) The cure could also be another way to introduce the suit.

#6 Miscallaneous/Easter eggs/ things that would be memorable in a Spider-Man film

• Flash considers joining the Army
• More Aunt May
• References to the video game
• Gwen mentioning Clones
• Peter buying a Motorbike
• Peter landing infront of his parents and uncles graves

Lastly, the last scene should involve something like this

Spider-Man has beaten Mysterio but he is still emotionally and physically distraught he swings back to Gwen’s he mistimes his swing and crashes into some bins, eventually he makes it to Gwen’s, they hug and we zoom to the Spider on his back. We see a man in his chair coughing, Harry walks through the door with a vial of the cure he and Peter worked up, and he hands the vial to the doctor that has the codename OZ on the label. We would then cut to black.

After the credits we would see a news report about how Oscorp has been blown up and that Norman Osborn was reported to have been inside when it exploded, a shadowy figure would then fly out of the wreckage.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and again it’s just my opinions on what I feel would make a fantastic Spider-Man movie, of course some of my stuff would have to go and I may even eventually write a screenplay, anyway I hope we all enjoy the next Spider-Man film.

Agreed on a lot of this, except for Kraven. Listening to Andrew Garfield saying he's like a campy hunter, he's kinda right. But Mysterio all the way! I've always wanted him to pit against the black suited Spidey. He could be a physical and mental challenge. Physical, why? Because he could use like miniature bombs and could be skilled at hand to hand combat.

But also I would probably save the black suit for the third film. Here's what I would do:

1st Film: The Amazing Spider-Man-Lizard (We know the story.)
2nd Film: The Spectacular Spider-Man-Mysterio (Shocker, Vulture very minor):

-Peter and Gwen struggle to stay friends instead of dating again. They eventually get back together.

-The ill CEO of OsCorp, Norman Osborn, uses some of the Kingpin's thugs as test subjects to test the skills of Spidey. (Shocker and Vulture)

-After seeing them fail, Osborn decides to give Spidey a mental and physical challenge and hires Mysterio.

-After tracking Mysterio back to OsCorp, after the final battle, Spidey is introduced to Osborn.

-Norman tells Peter that his father was hiding the formula in his blood and thats why he didn't die from the bite or mutate into a giant spider. He explains that Connors's formula was meant to cure Norman and that they took many attempts (The Suit, etc.) He explains that Peter is the perfect cross species and his blood could finish the formula. Norman threatens Peter unless he gives him a sample of his blood.

-The doctors do what they do, they stick a paralyzing serum in him that paralyzes him for 10 minutes. They put him in an alley in Queens.

-They fix the formula and inject Norman. It's a success until one of the machines explodes and causes a huge explosion at OsCorp. At that moment, Peter is able to move again and he sees the explosion.

-Norman rises out of the ruble, looking younger (Early 40s) and muscular. He runs to his office and into a secret room where the Goblin tech is. Norman knew what he would become.

***Harry Osborn and MJ introduced.***
***Easter Eggs and Cameos.***
***The 3rd film would start right where the second film needed. After the Goblin flees.***

3rd Film-The Web of Spider-Man: The Green Goblin

You should kind of know what happens in this film.

-Peter studies more on the black suit and wears it twice in the film. (Trying it out, final battle)
-Norman announces that he found a cure for his disease. People don't realize that he was in the explosion. Peter is stumped. Can't confirm or deny that Osborn is the Goblin.
-Harry falls into a pill addiction and becomes somewhat of an alcoholic due to Norman not paying attention to Harry anymore.
-GWEN SHALL DIE!!!!!!!!!!

But yeah you get it.

@soda9 i was gonna write an editorial but your ideas are more or less the same thing except a few differences i would have norman using all those supervillains like mysterio but not know he's behind it all till the end of the movie. also instead of bringing in the black suit in the third one bring it into the fourth one after gwen dies use the black suit but have it come from outer space have it connected to peters father eddie brock sr and curt connors and have it feed off of peters guilt and depression over gwens death and show it nearly drive him over the edge i.e. almost killing one of the movies villains before realising what he almost did

Kraven sucks...
But I LOVE your idea of having him lose in the second film..

People are going to compare this film to Spider-Man 2, so they have to work harder at surprising the fans..

But I'm sure they'll pull it off:P

Article is nonsensical, meaningless, and pointless.
You do realise that those points don't essentially make a good movie ?
20 people could die in a movie and that wouldn't make the movie awesome in any way. Even if spider-man dies, that wouldn't mean anything.
Lose or not in the first battle doesn't change anything at all. What matters is the scope of the fight. People just want an awesome fight scene (which TASM hasn't done).
Introducing a character is not going to change anything either.
Those are superhero movies. Romance isn't what we watched them for. Look at The Avengers and TDKR.
All that matters is : the Acting, The Action, and a good straight-to-the-point story.
