marvel ftw. dc, except for the jla, has no interesting characters. maybe superman is the first superhero, but marvel took superheroes one step further with stan lee.

I am a DC man I love their stories more like The Dark Knight Returns and Kingdom Come and all those other stories.

I love Marvel tho especially Cival War.

"marvel" wins, the very first "marvel" comic i ever brought was "uncanny x-men 205" way back in may 1986.

"marvel" has better heroes & villains hands down, the "x-titles" alone probably sell more than all of "dc" monthly books put together.

you can't go wrong with "the avengers" & "the x-men".

I'm 22 now and although I always thought I was more of a marvel fan because of films, tv shows and couple of spiderman and x-men comics i picked up, I've really begun to appreciate the greater quality in DC characters.

When i thought about it, DC animated shows ruled and some Marvel ones ruled.
But the Superman and Batman films are more iconic then any Marvel films, and all the animated Marvel films suck balls while all the DC animated ones are brilliant.

Marvel have a few more Class 1 heroes than DC do but the DC ones have this epic quality that Marvel doesn't have IMO.

Plus the Justice League is just way better than the Avengers hand down.

AND DC have better villains. Dr. Doom wrecks my head I hate him lol

What why does Marvel have more villains listed. And you said characters teams shouldn't count.
Oh and DC is better!

Just for the fact that they have Booster Gold!

Me personally, I like Marvel alot better than DC. DC tries to make their characters too perfect. An "invincible" superhero is just too boring for me. A flawed character makes for more interesting storylines and battles per say. There's nothing interesting about a character who you know is gonna win every battle or overcome every single obstacle. Same thing with Marvel villains. Alot of Marvels villains could've been superheroes of it wasn't for one incident.
I give DC their credit for creating the superhero archetype, but Marvel wins in diversity

The only characters from DC I like are the Flash (Wally West), Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Deathstroke, Nightwing, Robin (Tim Drake just before that whole Red Robin crap), and Cassandra Cain. Other than that, DC is just Blah

I am a bit conflicted by this poll. On one hand comics wouldn't be as big without Superman and Batman. However, the level of power the fans have given them is ridiculous and Supes to me is very boring as a character. Marvel has better characters to me and better stories. However Marvel wouldn't be here without DC. Still I like Marvel better. Plus when DC put the nail in the coffin of cbm's with, Batman and Robin, it was Marvel that placed the weight of the resurrection of cbm's on the back of a black daywalking half vampire, Blade, and he kicked the door in saving the genre. sooooo, Marvel!!!! all the way. So no matter how big Batman movies get remember three things, Batman and Robin film, the superman suit from when Tim Burton was going to direct Superman and make a horrendous film that WB cancelled after they saw the crappy BaR, and three Marvel gave themselves and DC a second chance. Where would we be today with cbm's without Blade, New Line, and Marvel.

I think both companies have some great characters, although I know a lot more about marvel then I do about DC but that does not mean I have some sort of alligence towards one. Never understood this whole DC vs Marvel never will. If your a true comic book fan you wont let company names stopping you from enjoying a great story. Kingdom Come is a must read for CB fans, so is Civil War. anyways I have made my point carry one with this arguement
