If you aren't too familiar with the New Warriors, here's the skinny...

The Warriors were founded by wealthy young adventurer Dwayne Taylor, who devoted his life to fighting crime after the murder of his parents. Dwayne fought crime as Night Thrasher, and forged a vigilante partnership with a super-human brother and sister duo. However, their alliance ended badly when one of the duo was shot by a gangster. Blaming Thrasher for the tragedy, the other super-human disappeared with his fallen partner, swearing vengeance.

Despite this setback, Dwayne was encouraged to continue his work, and to keep seeking allies in his war on crime. Inspired by and envious of the family dynamic of the Fantastic Four, Dwayne decided to form his own super-hero quartet: he restored Richard Rider's lost super-powers, persuading veteran adventurer Rider to join him as Nova. He recruited eager young telekinetic hero Vance Astrovik (Justice) and he pressured reluctant heroine Firestar into joining the group after uncovering her secret identity.

No sooner had the four met than they found themselves in battle with the alien menace Terrax, whom they defeated with the aid of Namorita and the clownish kinetic-energy-charged Speedball. The six heroes decided to remain together as a team, dubbed the "New Warriors" by Speedball using a television reporter's description of them. The new group was funded by the Taylor Foundation, a conglomerate of financial institutions established by Dwayne's late father.

The following people I chose for the role, I chose solely (for the most part) as actors/actresses that are less known but I believe can fill the roles nicely. Plus I wanted actors who can either pull of teen roles or young adult. The only biggest actor I have is for the role of Nova. I also included short biographies of each character straight from the Marvel Universe.

First up is Night Thrasher/Dwayne Taylor. Dwayne Taylor grew up believing his rich parents were killed by criminals for some unexplained reason. Taylor's guardians, the ex-military sergeant Chord (a friend of his father's) and the elderly martial arts master Tai, supported Taylor's vow to make all criminals pay for their actions, helping him create the identity of Night Thrasher.

For this role I went with Rob Brown (The Express, Stop-Loss, Coach Carter). I feel he has the screen prescence to portray Night Thrasher.

Next up is Justice/Vance Astrovik. Vance Astrovik was a normal teen who found himself secretly protected by the Guardians of the Galaxy, a group of superheroes from an alternate future who feared Vance was a target of the villainous Korvac. Upon meeting Vance Astro, the Guardian who happened to be an alternate-future version of himself, Vance experienced a mental shock that caused his mutant powers to emerge.

For this role, I had a hard time choosing between Justin Hartley (Smallville) and Jonathan Tucker (The Ruins, The Black Donelley's). I chose Hartley because for some reason he just fits as the role of Justice when it comes to having a leadership role. I chose Tucker more because I think he looks like him. Help me with this one.

Now for Firestar/Angelica Jones. Angelica Jones manifested her mutant microwave energy powers at the age of thirteen, a trauma made worse by the death of her beloved grandmother, Nana. Nana's passing left Angelica alone with her father Bart, who loved her but had great difficulty coping with Angelica's mutant nature. Relief arrived in the form of Emma Frost, headmistress of the prestigious Massachusetts Academy, which recruited Angelica and provided special training for her mutant powers.

I had some difficulty with this one as well because I wanted a true red head to fill the role and there aren't too many actresses w/red hair around. So with this choice I decided to go with Rachel Hurd-Wood. She is a relative unknown but who knows...she may be able to pull it off.

Now for Speedball/Robert Baldwin. Robbie was interning at the Hammond Research Laboratory in Connecticut. There, Doctor Benson and two colleagues began the final stages of their attempts to tap an extra-dimensional energy source, but the researchers did not construct adequate safeguards and the energies began to overload Hammond Labs' equipment. Part of the energies fed back into the generator, shorting out the entire system. Unfortunately, Robbie had sneaked into the lab where the experiment was taking place. Robbie was bombarded by energy from the dimension but survived, finding himself surrounded by weird energy bubbles, clad in an odd costume, and having a hollow and resonant voice.

For Speedball, I decided to go with Stephen R. McQueen (Vampire Diaries, Pirahna 3D) mainly because McQueen looks like he could be the clownish type to fill the shoes of the kinetically charged hero.

Next on my list is Namorita/Nita Prentiss. Namorita was born in 1958 to Namora, half-human cousin of Atlantis's Prince Namor. In recent years, Llyra plotted against Namor and forced Namorita to lure Namor into a trap. Namor foiled their plans and, reunited with the cousin he had not seen since her infancy, he entrusted her welfare to his longtime surface friend, Betty Prentiss. Under Prentiss's guidance, Namorita attended high school and college, and she took Prentiss's last name following her guardian's death.

For Namorita, I went with Alyson Michalka (Bandslam) mainly because she has that look of an Atlantean but nothing more. Plus, Namorita should probably be a little older so I am definitely open to suggestions here.

Last but not least is the most popular of the bunch...Nova/Richard Rider. Chosen at random by the dying Xandarian Rhomann Dey to receive his Nova Corps powers, teenager Richard Rider found himself thrust into the role of superhero, a role he grasped with relish.

For this role I chose to go with Chris Pine (Star Trek). Since Nova had been around before the New Warriors were put together and had some experience as a superhero, I decided to go with an older actor. Plus I believe Pine would be perfect for the role (since he didn't get Green Lantern) which may lead to other solo adventures for the cosmic crusader.

And for the villain I decided to go with Terrax since it was the first villain the New Warriors joined to take on in the first place. For the role of Terrax, I decided to go with Michael Clarke Duncan because he is large enough for the role and if you look at the picture, he looks pretty close to him.

Well that's my choices. Feel free to antagonize, criticize, etc...
