Mark Millar Comments On Josh Trank's FANTASTIC FOUR

In 2012, 20th Century Fox hired Mark Millar to be a special consultant for their comic book movies based on their Marvel properties. He was recently asked by Sky Movie what he thought of Josh Trank and his take on Fantastic Four. Check it out.

Since Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman: The Secret Service is yet another film that is based on a Mark Millar comic book series, Millar is out doing press for the film. During an interview with Sky Movies, Millar explained why he believes 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four is in "good hands" with director Josh Trank. That's nice to hear since so many rumors are floating out there right now about how Trank has been a negative to production. Check out the video below, or read the transcript, which is also below.

Josh Trank the guy who is directing it, is a really smart guy. He and I spent a wee bit of time together when I was first doing this job, about a year and a half ago. And, what I think Fox is doing is very clever. They'll get a great director on board. Like, a lot of people trust the character and just think this brand is going to be fine. But you can't trust the brand because the brand can be done badly, you know. But if you get a good director that is the cornerstone you build everything on. And with Bryan Singer doing the X-Men or James Mangold doing The Wolverine, Josh Trank doing Fantastic Four - it all feels in very good hands. It all comes down to the director. It's the same characters in all of these movie but the work stands or falls based on the director, and Josh is fantastic! What he is going to do is unlike anything anyone is anticipating. There is a cut kicking around but I haven't seen it yet. So, I'm expecting big things.

The Cast: Kate Mara ("House of Cards") as Invisible Woman/Sue Storm, Michael B. Jordan ("Chronicle") as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, Jamie Bell ("Billy Elliot") as Ben Grimm/The Thing, Miles Teller ("Divergent") as Reed Richards /Mr. Fantastic, Tim Blake Nelson ("O Brother, Where Art Thou?") as Harvey Elder/Mole Man and Toby Kebbell as Victor Domashev/Doom. It is being directed by Josh Trank ("Chronicle") based on a script written by Simon Kinberg ("X-Men: Days of Future Past").

Yup people should actually read the article or listen to the interview.

Millar hasn't even seen it and doesn't know anything after his part was done. He's just hoping it'll turn out alright.

Nothing to hate.

It sounds like Mark Millar hasn't seen any footage of the movie. So how in the hell would he know how good the movie is? Simply talking that the movie is in good hands and commenting that the movie is good are two totally different things. Millar said absolutely nothing in this interview.

If it's all down to the director, then hopefully Fox learned its lesson after Brett Ratner and Gavin Hood.
