Tenacious Latino Review scooper El Mayimbe has gone outside of Marvel Studios’ cinematic universe, and dug into Fox Studios’ upcoming Marvel venture, based on the First Family of the comics. Despite not having a cast attached, The Fantastic Four reboot has a director in Chronicle helmer Josh Trank, a March 2015 release date, an early June 17 start date, and now a plot logline…?

“Two friends (who end up being Mr. Fantastic and The Thing), starts with them being really young,” reports sources of the Latino site. “An event happens at 16 that changes them, instead of being superheroes, they are basically owned by the government and used as weapons.”

UPDATE: Jeremy Slater, one of The Fantastic Four reboot’s original screenwriters, has posted a series of tweets seemingly debunking(?) the above logline. “Hahahaha nope,” one of the tweets read, while others remind us, “IRON MAN logline: Tony Stark talks about MySpace, builds weapons for terrorists, AVENGERS logline: Agent Maria Hill drives down tunnel, saves world.”

Based on that alleged logline, it is unclear if The Fantastic Four is taking inspiration from a specific comic book storyline. However, the reboot has been previously said to take a “grounded superhero and sci-fi” approach while also delving deep into the comics mythology. While Seth-Grahame Smith is currently polishing The Fantastic Four script, its original writer Jeremy Slater has boasted the movie as one the fans deserve. Anyhow, scheduled to film in Vancouver later this year under the working title Henry Street, Josh Trank directs The Fantastic Four into theaters on March 6, 2015!
