In a recent interview with MTV, Jason Momoa - who portrays the title character of the upcoming Conan The Barbarian reboot - discusses the basic plot outline of the film, calling it a 'revenge story' due to the murder of Conan's father.

"It kind of is an origin story. It's rebuilding and rebooting the franchise...It starts with his birth, what happened to his family, what happened to his father—obviously his father is killed—and him going into the pirating and the thieving and wandering and being the degenerate that he is and then usurping a throne and finding out who killed his father. It's a revenge story, with a little bit a love in there."

Conan The Barbarian hits theaters August 19th, later this year!

You know, I didn't like this new movie but its growing on me, plus you can see the whole crew has passion for the project...

So hell, I hope its a success!

Bonus FOX doesn't have their grubby hands on this comic book franchise too, hoping for the best!

@mk616 the original sucks. i mean, old guys like me have a place for it in our hearts (a) because we were kids and (b) because it's the original. but it's underlit, underscored, dreary, full of lulls and loaded with senseless and cheeseball dialogue. and arnold, as much as we love him, is a terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible actor.

AlternateNo4..... well because of his poor acting skills, he gave the barbarian role a more natural look.

I still get more interested in visiting a bob marley concert than a barabarian movie, looking at mamoa.... but.... I ll hope its a good movie!!

Yeah, I would like this to be a good, fun movie. But without a trailer yet, theres still nothing to go by.

Arnie killed the whole Conan franchise with his dumb acting, he made the character one-dimensional. In the first film he had a better supporting cast to make it almost watchable, the 2nd film had nothing and both flopped!

This new film hopefully will portray the smarter cunning Conan from the books and not Arnies dumb version. Thank Christ Jason hasn't seen those crappy films to influence him, they are for childhood protecting fanboys only!

of course he hasn't, he's obviously grown up on Marvel comics and Arnie movies, so ends his learning curve!

I think someone needs to read about, Genghis Khan, Attila the Hun, Boadicea and maybe Timur or Kublai Khan!
