Guy Ritchie's King Arthur: Legend of the Sword was neither a critical nor a commercial hit, but it appears as though it may just find a second life on home video later this summer since fans have responded to it considerably better than what the box office would suggest.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment recently announced that the film, which starred Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, Aidan Gillen, and Eric Bana,
 would arrive on 4K Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, and Blu-ray on August 8.

At the moment, there are no special editions currently planned, but we do have the full list of special features, which includes several cool behind-the-scenes videos, amongst other things. Check them out below along with the official cover art:

  • Arthur with Swagger - Charlie Hunnam is a gentleman, a hunk and a rebel, setting new standards as king and new rules with the ladies.

Acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” Starring Charlie Hunnam in the title role, the film is an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne.

When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.

King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword features:
Director: Guy Ritchie
Charlie Hunnam as King Arthur
Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey as Guinevere
Djimon Hounsou as Sir Bedivere
Aidan Gillen as Goosefat Bill Wilson

Poor Charlie Hunnam. Still waiting on his film career to take off. Maybe he should've kept Guillermo Del Toro's number.....

Have to take a poll while I'm here guys; is this film better or worse than the Clive Owen King Arthur?

@Parker00 - Totally different. Clive's was more grounded, while this one embraced the mystical side. As a huge King Arthur legend nut....both were good and entertaining....but still lack that epic punch that it deserves.

Loved Richie's style for this, was definitely different....but dragged a bit too much in the middle.

If you don't enjoy Guy Ritchie's style, you most likely won't like this movie. I recommend it to at least watch on blu ray.

@Menks123 - Admittedly, all I remember about Clive's was how much I wanted to smush Kiera Knightley, haha! Seriously though, thanks for the quote! You may have actually interested me a bit more than I was to begin with.

@Parker00 - this movie went balls to the wall magic, and I loved it. I like the Clive Owen version a lot. But I liked this a lot more, totally took me by surprise! It was totally a guy Richie movie with guy Richie doing things I've never seen do. I myself really dug it.

I only watched this movie because my gf wanted and, to my surprise, I ended up liking it and actually enjoying it a bit more than WW (which I had seen a few days before it), so I really don't get all the hate for this movie.

Charlie Hunnam still has LOST CITY on his belt in 2017. That's enough for me to know this guy can rock it.

I liked it. Liked Man from UNCLE too, another movie that didn't do as well as I thought it would. Oh well.

I should've went to see this movie. Should've supported it. Regrets paired with shame equals a sour milkshake.

i think this movie would have done better in September and October. 13-16 year old viewers are not interested in these types of movies. Summer time is about spandex and capes.

Thoroughly enjoyed this film. Saw it twice even. The trailers were weird and fun, and so was the film. I imagine it's not getting a sequel thanks to you miserable bastards who didn't like it, which sucks because I really want see the introduction of characters like Lancelot, Guinevere, and Merlin. I want to see Arthur and his Knights fight dragons.
