Following the success of Arrows second season, Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg has discussed the third season which received an early pick up by the CW in the year.

Kreisberg stated that season three will begin with Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) 'in very different circumstances' as well as suffering from the Queen families financial circumstances which will 'play out in the last five episodes' of this current season.

This is also set to affect his relationship with trusted allies and friends Diggle and Felicity: 'Oliver being in different circumstances changes the circumstances of his paid bodyguard [Diggle] and his paid assistant [Felicity] since he can no longer pay them.

The executive producer likened the shows change of tone to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, where they have a clear tonal change as the seasons progressed.

What does this mean for the future of Team Arrow going forward? Shares your thoughts below on this minor revelation.

"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine."

I can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of this season. Arrow is dark best.

I know this isn't exactly a popular opinion, but I hope we get less Felicity next season.

If they go ahead and kill off his family and have him live on the streets that would be some balls on their part. But if they aren't going to kill Deathstroke the [frick] are they going to do with him?

If they change the costume maybe this will be partial inspiration:

I'm hoping for something like this.

@Son

I think that would work for say... an Island flashback. Always thought it looked weird for GA to not have any sleeves.

Lol, am I the only one that finds Slade in a suit with an eyepatch and fighting with a sword and gun looking as cool as him doing the same stuff in the Deathstroke suit. I can imagine if he does get [frick]ed over badly by the time this ends it will be satisfying given that he beats the shit out of everyone and has done nothing but win in the present storyline.

Slade will probably be incarcerated somehow or maybe enlisted by Task Force X. I'm guessing the Mirakuru will be removed from his system

I knew this was gonna to happen
They should kill off his family as they are the weakest point in the show.

Also after last episode, Slade with just in a.suit and sword looked just as threating

Slade and Merlyn are almost like the reversal of each other. One is a superior villain with weak motivation (Slade) and one is still a good (but not as great) villain with strong motivation (Merlyn).

Luminus
Luminus - 4/18/2014, 4:01 AM
Why do people keep saying that Slade has week motivation? It's been painstakingly explained that the Mirakuru has driven him crazy; therefore, his motivation is irrelevant. No one EVER complains about the Joker's ridiculous motivations or the Riddler's ridiculous motivations or the Green Goblin's ridiculous motivations or Venom's butthurt motivations. We all understand that they are wackjobs and therefore don't need to have strong motivations for compulsive killing, torture and destruction.
Klone
Klone - 4/18/2014, 4:17 AM
Thing is Luminus, those are all great villains and so is Slade therefore the motivations don't bother us too much. And yes, having the mirakuru was basically there to conveniently speed up his villain transformation by want to make GA suffer for the death a woman he had no romantic relations with (the whole Slade-Shado thing was very forced) and her death wasn't either really GA's fault. I never understood why whenever they talk about that scene they speak of it in such a way that makes it seem like Oliver outright choose Blondie Can't Act over Shado. That is actually the impression I got before I saw the episode (I haven't watched Arrow episodes in order), that he outright told Ivo to kill her.
Klone
Klone - 4/18/2014, 4:20 AM
Basically, they pumped full of a convenience drug and had him go crazy over the death of a woman that didn't even love him (very forced relationship to say the least) and then try and get revenge of a guy who isn't even really responsible for anything. Lol!
Vital

Makes me kind of nervous seeing how campy and stupid Buffy and Angel were as a show. Blows my mind that people actually watched that crap, same with Smallville lol. There's a standard bar, and those shows are beneath it.
Luminus
Luminus - 4/18/2014, 4:44 AM
@MetahumanAbominationKlone: How is the drug convenient? Oliver can't beat Slade whether he's on Mirakuru or not. As for wanting revenge, Slade didn't see what happened. He only knows that Oliver had to make a choice and now one girl Slade doesn't care about is alive and one he does care about is not. Makes perfect sense even without the Mirakuru. Some people will kill you for stepping on their new sneakers. At least there's some love involved here.
GhostDog
GhostDog - 4/18/2014, 5:37 AM
Costume to change to something like what GA wears in the Jeff Lemire new 52 green arrow arc. SEASON 3: BROKE ARROW haha.
SaxoWolf
SaxoWolf - 4/18/2014, 5:40 AM
I actually quite like the idea of Oliver Queen being poor and living in the streets. And if they go that way in the series, it's nice because it will look less dark knight. He's like bruce wayne with a bow and arrows at the moment.
Luminus
Luminus - 4/18/2014, 5:46 AM
@OstrichBane: perfect, though that might cause unforeseen mental damage on Oliver's part.
Klone
Klone - 4/18/2014, 6:00 AM
@Luminus

It makes sense but that doesn't make it good. The Mirakuru was simply there to speed up his villain transformation and give a lazy "he's CRAZY!" excuse when questioning the weakness of his motivation given that Shado didn't love him at all.

I'm excited, when Oli lost his money in comics it produced some awesome stories. Made him see 'saving' people in a different light and would let him play the societal progress card once he gets his money back

Became a huge fan of Manu from his Spartacus run...he's great in this role...he'd be cool as a side villain in a JLA or even the BvS movie...especially if Nightwing makes an appearance...know won't happen, only bad thing about him being on this show...unless they do combine the universe...

Thought he'd have been an awesome Rumlow/Crossbones, but Frank G. was awesome in CapTWS...

Mastyrwerk - 4/18/2014, 6:10 AM
Crazy for crazy sake is a weak motivation.

The Batman villains are crazy for specific reasons, or have specific forms of crazy. Their craziness has depth.

Slade's crazy has no depth, which reflects on the overall shallowness of the show.
