Arrow returns January 14th with a brand new episode, titled "Blast Radius". However, that will be the 10th episode of Season 2. However,
TV|Line is looking ahead to episode 14 in their spoiler column. The site reports:
Given all that has transpired since she last visited – e.g. Sara’s super-secret “resurrection,” Laurel’s downward spiral – Alex Kingston’s encore as Dinah Lance promises to be a doozy. “Episode 14 is probably the most Brothers & Sisters episode we’ve done,” showrunner Andrew Kreisberg says, with a nod to fellow EP Greg Berlanti’s ABC drama. “Everyone in the Lance family has big secrets and it’s all going to get blown wide open, but in a good way.”
The bit about every member of the Lance family having secrets is very intriguing. We can guess what secret Sara (Caity Lotz) carries. I'm sure the fact that she's alive will be a shock to Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Dinah. And the fact that (former) Det. Lance (Paul Blackthorne) knew she was alive is probably his secret. But what secret does Laurel carry? Perhaps the most intriguing secret revealed will belong to Dinah Drake? In the comics, Dinah Drake was the original Black Canary who passed down her costume to her daughter Laurel. Obviously the show is tweaking that mythology but perhaps she'll be able to pass down some other aspect of the Black Canary persona? The previous executive producer reveal that Arrow (Stephen Amell) wasn't the first superhero/ vigillante has me thinking a legacy character like Dinah will be the avenue used to explore an earlier era of costumed adventurers. Perhaps Dinah works for Amanda Waller's (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) A.R.G.U.S.? Or maybe she has a connection to Ted Grant a.k.a. Wildcat, the DC superhero who trained and mentored the second-generation Black Canary.
Arrow returns from mid-season hiatus on January 15th.

"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine." |
