Arrow is still currently filming the second season so the storyline could change significantly. However, I'm hearing there will be major developments between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Slade (Manu Bennett) in the back-half of season 2. At the end of the second season, Oliver may find himself alone on the island, opening up the possibility for more characters to train and combat the vigilante-in-training in Season 3.
But back to season 2, Spoiler TV reports that the Arrow staff are still trying to determine what to do in episode 20, now that Barry Allen will get his own standalone pilot. Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg told the site, “What happened in Central City at the end of [the fall finale] was certainly big news. Right now, we’re focusing hard on writing the Flash pilot and breaking the rest of the season of Arrow. But hopefully there will be some synchronicity between the two [shows], in anticipation of getting to see more of Grant [Gustin] and The Flash." I understand that synchronicity could come in the form of the frequent background television reports on Arrow which will highlight the early exploits of the Scarlet Speedster in Central City. That means keep your eyes open whenever one of the televisions are on a news cast and listen very carefully.
Elsewhere, TV Guide has the scoop on Nyssa Al Ghul's guest spot, played by Spartacus alum, Katrina Law. TVG reports, "Arrow's version of Nyssa (Katrina Law), who is sent to hunt down Sara Lance, will be similar to her sister Talia al Ghul." Kreisberg told them, "She's the next wave of the League of Assassins that comes to Starling City. She's certainly exotic, beautiful and smart. She has some interesting secrets as well." The site also adds that Law was nearly cast as Shado (Celina Jade) but the producers felt the Spartacus connection would have been too strong. Look for Nyssa to make her presence felt in episode 2x13 "Heir of the Demon" which will air on February 5th.
Arrow returns from mid-season hiatus on January 15th.

"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine." |
