The first step in attempting to keep major motion picture filming locations secretive is to usually assign them "working titles." These titles rarely have any association to the content of the film. Though Green Lantern has already been filming for five weeks in New Orleans, LA, the general public has yet to be made aware of its designated production title. No need to wonder any more! If you plan of visiting one of the many Green Lantern filming locations, all you have to do is look for these signs:

Where exactly are these locations, you may ask? They aren't too hard to find. The Green Lantern cast and crew have been making their rounds all over the New Orleans area. Here's a rundown of most of the sites which have been used so far; with a brief description of what took place in or around each:

SPOILER WARNING!

Second Line Stages

800 Richard St.
New Orleans, LA 70130

This is Green Lantern ground zero, where most of the filming is taking place. The latest set pictures from this location show a mock air traffic control tower and giant blue screens in place for a scene that will be at the end of the film.

Madisonville, LA

This location was used to film where Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) and Abin Sur (Temuera Morrison) meet. Abin Sur's ship was spotted on the set last week, and soon after revealed here at ComicBookMovie. Warner Bros stunt crews spent several days here running driving tests before filming the scene where Abin's Green Lantern ring brings Hal Jordan (in his car) to the ship's crash site.

University of New Orleans

2000 Lakeshore Dr
New Orleans, LA 70148

The UNO Science Building was used as the office/laboratory for Green Lantern villain Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard). Though filming took place indoors, cranes were spotted outside of the Science Building creating artificial rain for one of the scenes.

Old Point Bar

545 Patterson Drive
New Orleans, LA 70114

The bar was renamed 'Broome's Bar' for the movie. This location was used for the first day of filming. Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Jay O. Saunders, Nick Jones and several others were on set for a scene where Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris link up at the bar after Hal is given the Green Lantern ring.

Lafayette St. & Girod St.

During the first week of filming, giant framework was set up in this area for s stunt in which Hal Jordan was assaulted by three men. During the scene, Hal's ring activates and knocks one of the men across the parking lot be way of a construct.

NBC News Station

846 Howard Avenue
New Orleans, LA 70113

The station was briefly used to film a news report that will be used in the film; more than likely to showcase the destruction caused to Coast City after a battle.

[EDITOR'S NOTE: During my recent trip to NOLA, my rental car came from Enterprise which was right across the street from the station.]

First Bank & Trust of New Orleans

909 Poydras Street
New Orleans, LA 7011

The penthouse floor of this bank was used as an office for Senator Hammond (Tim Robbins). Senator Hammond is the father of Green Lantern villain Hector Hammond and was created specifically for the film.

Lakeshore Airport

6001 Stars and Stripes Blvd
New Orleans, LA 70126

Yesterday it was revealed that this location will be used for the fictitious Ferris Aircraft airfield. It is also being used to house the experimental aircraft Martin Campbell (Hal Jordan's father) will use for the film. The Lakeshore Airport air traffic control tower was used as a model for the mock one built at Second Line Stages.

AWESOME FIND...Green Lantern has always been my favorite DC character...the evolution of the character from cocky selfish test pilot to cocky ;) noble protector is emulated throughout the books and GL emphasizes that if you put your heart, mind, and confidence into a challenge you can achieve great outcomes ...my first choice was Nathan Fillion for GL but Ryan Reynolds should pull off this legendary role quite nicely. Cant wait for this movie, it will be epic.

Multi-great job on the GL coverage. You truly went above and beyond.

It sounds like this will be a fairly lengthy movie with the shooting schedule followed by almost a year of CGI.
