TERMINATOR: SALVATION Director In Line To Helm Sony's MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE

It seems we finally have some movement on Sony's planned live-action adaptation of the classic animated series, He-Man And The Masters of The Universe. A new report indicates that Terminator: Salvation helmer (AKA Joseph McGinty Nichol) is "orbiting" the director's chair. Check it out...

According to Deadline, McG (This Means War, Terminator: Salvation, Charlies Angels) is in talks to direct Sony's big-screen reboot of Masters of The Universe. The studio has been trying to get this one off the ground for years, with several different writers and directors attached at various stages. There was a previous 1987 movie starring Dolph Lungdren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor, but that was... not very good.

McG will also oversee a rewrite of the latest script by Alex Litvak and Mike Finch, while Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch are on board as producers. The story focuses on He-Man, "a prince who transforms into a warrior and becomes the last hope for a magical world that has been ravaged by the sinister Skeletor."

Does this have any hope of being good? Sound off below.

anytime someone brings up McG to possibly touching anything in Hollywood, there should be a person that enters the room and knocks them out

Haters gotta hate.

Terminator: Salvation was WAY better than it's previous and post Terminator films.

McG can do it, just gotta stay true to the source.

AND Dolph's Masters is excellent, no bullshit.

Salvation took something that Terminator fans had been dying to see for twenty years and made it uninteresting and completely nonsensical.

@Nomis Well after Salvation the production company went bankrupt and had to put the rights to Terminator up for auction so I'm not sure that one worked out too well either. And I highly doubt we've seen the last Terminator movie. I bet we see another eitjin the next ten years.

@MexicanSuperman Masters of the Universe was the greatest cartoon of the 80's and I will fight any man, woman, or humanoid lobster who says otherwise.

Despite that description I hope the movie focuses on more than just He-man.
