We could go on all day about the films legendary make up artist Rick Baker has done. He has won 7 Oscars with make up. He was the primary makeup artist for Michael Jackson's Thriller music video. He worked on alien designs in Men In Black. He worked with Ron Perlman when Ron was was Beast in Beauty And The Beast and when Ron was Hellboy in Hellboy. He did the makeup for Jim Carry's Grinch. The list goes on and on. The last film he did was Angelina Jolie's Maleficent and I think it's fair to say he did a great job with that.

So why is he retiring? Basically because studios don't appreciate hardwork and when things are done right and want things done now and cheap. Baker told 89.3 KPCC, “I said the time is right, I am 64 years old, and the business is crazy right now. I like to do things right, and they wanted cheap and fast. That is not what I want to do, so I just decided it is basically time to get out.”

He did said he is still willing to consulate on future projects but that's about it. Recently Baker posted on Twitter some fun little concept art he did of the Joker he made based off of Greg Capullo's Joker from Death of the Family. Here's a photo:

If you would like to see more of the Joker concept art he did, here's an article that was posted on here of it. So what are your thoughts on this news? Comment below, let me know. Peace and remember...
