In an interview with MTV Splash Page, the actor was asked whether the new Western that he's in (True Grit) is better than the much criticized Jonah Hex. Here is what he had to say as well as who he wishes had helmed the movie.

"It is. It didn't need to be, but it is."

"In the long run, I prefer this one."

"I wish the Coen Brothers would've done Jonah Hex. I made a lot of other calls, but I didn't make that one — to my chagrin, for sure."

Dude... Could you be bitching anymore about CHOOSING to act in this movie??? What's next, he'll be saying that the KGB had a gun to his head when he got called for the gig? For [frick]'s sakes, grow a sac!

[frick]ing "victims"... seriously. You hear Brandon Routh bitch about Singer? You hear Hugh Jackman bitch about Ratner and Hood? That's right, swallow and switch.

I was hoping Jonah Hex would be the gateway for small time DC heroes on the big screen.:C

Jonah Hex was so terrible and ruined any chance of another Hex movie.

i don't mean to complain but that jonah hex movie was pretty bad its right up there with the losers imo it had the potential to be a good epic western comic book movie had they actually chosen somebody like clint eastwood or somebody who has experience with the genre the movie could have been a lot better

Will this guy please shut up abut the movie because he was the one that picked the director they got to film the movie. Matter of fact he was the one that read the script and said that the movie was terrible, but could be terrible good if they got the right people to do it. He took the directors who came up with the script the guys who did crank and now are doing g rider 2 off the movie and got the guy who did kung-fu panda of all the directors to do the movie. Its funny now he acts as though he had nothing to do with how bad the movie turned out lol

i wished it never got made full stop, along with "red" & "the losers".

warner/dc entertainment should just concertrate on the likes of "the flash" or "wonder woman".

"the flash" would of grossed more money than those three put together.

dadarkknight- AMEN!!! He should really just shut the [frick] up about it. We heard him the first 5 times he complained. We get it, he doesn't aprove of how the film ended up. No matter how many tears of his hits his free DVD copy, it ain't gonna make it any better. He should just wipe his ass with it, set it on fire, throw it at the director's window and MOVE ON!

deadpool72- That's exactly why i say they hired monkeys to run the company. Does Marvel make films about "Ricochet"? No, and they don't throw their feces at people's faces either.

I've not seen Jonah Hex (and have no plans to) but it's getting to the point of being pathetic that Brolin is constantly trying to pass the buck for it being a bad movie! It was admirable when he came out and admitted that it could and should have been better, but trying to make it look as if that had nothing to do with him is laughable! He read the scrip, met the director and starred in the damned thing! He's right about the Coen's though. That would've been awesome.

Guys, check out my Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D Fan Cast! Just click the link! :)

God how cool would it have been if the Cohens did direct it? I realize Brolin is going on a abit but I have to say in this instance I'm inclined to sympathise with him. HE was actually very good as Jonah Hex. So I would be very angry too if I was him.

in my opinon this was DC's "punisher: war zone"...the lead actor was great...but EVERYTHING else totally sucked!...atleast unlike marvel..they used their "shitty movie card" on a c-list character instead of an A-lister like the punisher :)

I thought the Losers was great!

XmutantX- "atleast unlike marvel..they used their "shitty movie card" on a c-list character instead of an A-lister like the punisher :)"

Ouch, touché ;)

Ror- Yeah but, we did sympathise with him more than once before. I mean, would you be sympathetic as much with Sam Worthington if he went on about "how bad his Clash remake was" MORE than three times? I'm beginning to think Brolin can't get a decent night's sleep anymore, waking up every 45 minutes in cold sweats yelling "JONAH HEX!!!" *pant* *pant* *pant* *wipe*... Next thing we'll hear is that he'll be suing Hex's director for psychological abuse! O_o

I get what he's saying BUT, he chose that film after reading the script. Just like he chose to be in Men In Black 3.....wack!!!!!! Why do good films like No country for Old Men and True Grit then lower yourself to doing crappy ones. He's a FAR better actor then Will Smith will ever be but in that film Brolin will get almost no credit.

I got to see Jonah Hex on dvd. I don't hate it, but I didn't like it either. I didn't like how the movie began and other than that, it had it's moments. Pretty much another F.U. to DC from Warners. I'm very confident that Green Lantern will make the haters eat their words though.

Can't really argue with any of that^^^

Shaman, well the one difference there is that Worthington frakking stunk in Clash! So they built a crappy movie around his crappy performance, Brolin deserved , and was most likely promised better. But it is funny how he goes on. I guess he feels like a whore for bigging up the movie so much!

Coen brothers should direct the Red Dead Redemption adaptation and have Josh Brolin as John Marston. Whatcha think?

Coen Brothers would have been perfect. John Hillcoat (The Road, The Proposition, Red Dead Redemption) would have been great too.

vaderthefett@ Sounds like a perfect job for them!

Ror- Yeah... that's true as well. It hadn't really crossed my mind that he was surely forced under contract to promote that piece of shit film, so yeah he could be just royaly peeved beyond retribution from that and now holds a death grudge against Hex's director. Can't really argue with him about the Coen Bros though LOL
