TRANSFORMERS Star Megan Fox Reflects On JONAH HEX Role: "I'm Definitely Not Bad In It"

Megan Fox played Lilah Black in 2010's Jonah Hex, and the Transformers and Till Death star has now reflected on that role after recently watching the DC Comics adaptation for the first time. Check it out!

Megan Fox has had quite a tumultuous ride in Hollywood, getting her start in the Transformers franchise and later starring in poorly received movies like Jonah Hex and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. There were some good parts along the way (Jennifer's Body, for example), but it's only in the past few years that Fox has enjoyed a career resurgence of sorts thanks to the roles she's chosen.

After a memorable stint in New Girl, the actress has been a little pickier with the projects she signs up for, and there's now a lot of excitement surrounding her next movie, Till Death

Talking to The Washington Post about her career, Fox looks back on her Jonah Hex role in 2010, revealing that she only recently watched it for the first time. Saying she believes it was a "decent" movie, Fox added: "While I shouldn’t have been nominated for an Oscar for it, I’m definitely not bad in it."

That's actually a fair observation, and most critics found fault with the haphazard nature of the movie under the direction of Jimmy Hayward (he's only helmed animated movie Free Birds since). Jonah Hex was, however, a box office flop, grossing only $11 million worldwide on a $47 million budget.

The title character has since appeared in episodes of Legends of Tomorrow, but that's it.

As for Fox, she recently expressed an interest in starring in a Marvel or DC movie, so could end up getting a shot at redemption by playing a different character from either comic book universe.

What did you think of Jonah Hex way back in 2010?

I don't remember anything at all from that movie except Malkovich being the villain.

Haven't seen much of Fox' roles though, but from what I've seen I think her role in TMNT might be the type that fit her best.

@heyy1 - had to look it up, because I even forgot he was in it. Found that this movie had an impressive cast even

The only movie I actually liked her acting was in Jennifer's Body. other than that I guess she's nice to look at. I hope she gets something good to work with in future though.

@Jaykay21 - I think with her its not that she's necessarily bad in anything. She's just not anyththing special or noticeable, aside from her looks.

She is good in Jennifer's Body, though.

@CorndogBurglar - apparently her new film is quite good, which is what she's doing the rounds promoting right now

@CorndogBurglar - Yeah, but I think if she's given a good role she'll have potential, maybe as you say her looks, they prob get in the way.

@CorndogBurglar - How many roles has she been given to do anything beyond just run around and look pretty, though?

@Jaykay21 - I dunno she just played the same stereotype in that movie. Fox or Seyfried didn't stand out at all and their roles were typical for their type. The star of that film is the director and writer because she crafted a very unique film that blended multiple genres.

She's like Cameron Diaz or Jessica Alba, hot actors that can't act.

@mastakilla39 - Oh it definitely wasn't a contender for a best actress award, but it's the only time I found her believable, probably due to the writing and directing as you pointed out.

I do think Cameron Diaz has had more success though and better roles, so not a fair comparison (by a slim margain)

"revealing that she only recently watched it for the first time. Saying she believes it was a "decent" movie,"

If that movie is a movie she calls Decent then that speaks volumes to the movies she's been in. Like oof

I like Megan Fox. She's been sorta like a young female Ben Affleck. Well-known attractive actor, known for being in critically panned movies, and never elevating them. It only really takes one role or two, for an actor to change that narrative. I gotta check out Till Death.

@99OPTIMISTPRIME - Dont know if Megan Fox would be capable of directing great movies like The Town or Argo or being one of the best versions of one of the best known superheroes (in my opinion). People dont give Affleck enought credit. Fox is more like the female version of Jai Courtney; serviceable acting and good looks in big blockbuster bombs.

It amazes me how young most of these girls hit the wall, then feel they have to butcher their faces to stay looking "young". Eventually, they all end up looking like the Joker.

I guess that's what happens when your entire personality revolves around looking pretty, rather than actual talent and personality.

I've never seen Jonah Hex. But I really hope Fox gets a second chance at a superhero franchise. She deserves it after getting tossed thankless roles in embarrassing movies and then black-listed for speaking out against sexist treatment.

She'd make a great Deathbird or Lilandra for the MCU. Would love to see an Operation Galactic Storm adaptation and/or War of Kings.

She is nice to look at,can't act for shit. Maybe cast as Rogue in X-Men.

@marvel72 - *Imagines an over the hill actress who can't act for shit trying to pull off a Southern accent as Rogue.*

I wouldn't mind seeing her in the MCU cast in a role/character that fans wouldn't be all too mad about say:Blonde Phantom ,Nemesis ,Caiera ,ZARDA ,or Darkstar (Laynia Petrovna)

I love westerns, so Jonah Hex was great to me! Wish DC and Marvel would bring more of their western characters to the big screen. Marvel should really do the Rawhide Kid! No funny business, a real hardcore, serious, rootin tootin shoot em up!

She was [frick]ing horrendous in that movie. The movie itself wasn't very good, but she stood out to me as being particularly out of place. Giving a bad actor the task of doing a southern accent when they're incapable of doing one isn't the greatest of ideas.
