this movie looks killer, but i've never read jonah hex. where's a good place to start?

Man, even from the storyboard it doesn't look like they are going to mess with his eye. Everyone thought the early pics would still have cgi added to them but his eyes are normal in this too.

you could start with DC Showcase Presents Jonah Hex Vol 1
starts with his first appearence in All Star Westerns #10 up to Wierd Western Tales #33.
for the current series try the paper back trades plus you can try the original graphic novel "NO WAY BACK" comming in March

Dude only one eye is normal for Hex and his scar side eye appears larger just not as pronounced as in the comics or any of the animation Hex has appeared in, which I believe they over did it in the animation .A more realistic version and it's fine with this fan.
