Last year, I came up with a fancast for a CGI-animated series based on the James Robinson/Mark Bagley lineup for DC's Justice League of America, which was the team lineup from 2008-2011. Originally, the team formed after the events of the much-maligned 2009 mini-series "Justice League: Cry for Justice", but I saw potential in the team that came about after the Brightest Day JLA/JSA teamup story "The Dark Things". This lineup, consisting of Supergirl, Batman (Dick Grayson), Donna Troy, Jesse Quick, Jade, Congorilla, and Starman (Mikaal Tomas), along with an addition of my own in the form of Green Arrow (Connor Hawke), were the main characters for my original fancast. (Which can be found here: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fan_fic/news/?a=65975.)
In my original fancast, I came up with ideas for eight initial episodes (with four of the stories being based on actual James Robinson stories from the JLA title), and felt I was satisfied enough. Well, fast-forward to now, and something hits me with enough creative energy to want to round it out to at least a 13-episode order, so with this second part, I bring you episodes 9-10 and 11-13 of "Justice League: Legacy". For a refresher of the show's format:
-The art/animation style would be the same as Green Lantern: The Animated series, but blended with Mark Bagley's signature style (I like how animated his stuff looks).
-Andrea Romano would be voice director.
-Greg Wiseman would be a writer/director, along with Lauren Montgomery, with some scripts done by Peter David, Marv Wolfman, Christy Marx, Simon Furman, and even one from Robinson himself.
-It would air both on Cartoon Network and G4, to give something kids could watch on that particular network. (Before it becomes Esquire Network...)
-The history within the series would resemble what the regular comics universe (pre-Flashpoint) would look like, but without things like Identity Crisis, Blackest Night, Brightest Day, and the like.
*The final four episodes are ones that, if all was right, DC and its marvelous competition could put aside their differences for a while to let something like them happen...
Now comes a refresher of our main cast of characters:
Emma Roberts as the voice of Supergirl/Kara Zor-El/'Linda Lang
Kara, in her Linda Lang ID, at the invitation of Lana Lang (posing as her aunt), has been interning at GBCS, the television station owned by the Daily Planet that her cousin once anchored at for a time.
Brandon Routh as the voice of Batman/Dick Grayson
In this take, Bruce Wayne passes the mantle onto Dick after deciding to retire as Batman himself (instead of being blasted into the past during Final Crisis, which does not occur in this universe), but not after founding and running Batman Inc. Batman also begins training Bruce's son Damian (who yes is in this cartoon) as the current Robin (the Grant Morrison-written origin applies here). Dick, before very reluctant to don the mantle, as his years being Nightwing have given him a sense of distinction, warms to the role as he starts his career under the cowl. He acts as the team's best tactician.
Adrianne Palicki as the voice of Troia/Donna Troy
I felt bad that Palicki, who was pretty excited to play Wonder Woman, was disappointed that the WW pilot wasn't picked up. Yet at the same time, I though Palicki looked too 'young' to play Diana. Then it hit me that she would be qualified enough to play, let alone voice, the next best thing--the former Wonder Girl turned Darkstar turned keeper of the secrets of the multiverse, Diana's surprisingly popular sister, Donna Troy.
In this take, while Donna still has her history as of Infinite Crisis/Return of Donna Troy, she's now a professional photographer, and with Jade, opens a studio, "Olympic Eye". She's also elected by Dick and Kara to be team leader. (Also, her costume would have more of a Phil Jimenez feel to it, especially in the collar area. If you know what I mean.)
Allison Mack as the voice of Jesse Quick/Jesse Chambers-Tyler
I picked Mack based on her performance as Power Girl in Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, and think she'd make a pretty spunky speedster. She's got the right pipes for the former Liberty Belle II, in my personal opinion.
In this take, she honors both her parents' (Johnny Quick and the original Liberty Belle, who're still alive in this universe) legacies in her current role, while also being a part of Quick-Start (her father's company). She also sees herself as something of a Golden Age historian (a nod to Roy Thomas, who'd guest-write an episode). And of course, happily married to her former JSA teammate, Rick Tyler, the second Hourman. At the end of my show's first season, it'd be revealed that she's pregnant with their child, so she takes maternity leave for the second season, where Wally West as the Flash fills in for her.
Mila Kunis as the voice of Jade/Jennifer-Lyn Hayden
I just thought that Kunis could use a change of pace from a lot of the stuff she lends her voice to (in other words, give her a break from voicing the butt of everyone's jokes). In a recent statement, she's said she's always wanted to play a superhero, so I just thought, why not our favorite former Infinitor and female Green Lantern?
In my take, Jade starts the "Olympic Eye" photo studio with Donna, and finds herself dating the team's go-to magic experts other than Zatanna, Sebastian Faust--which is still taking some getting used-to by her father. Her past with Infinity Inc., Kyle Rayner, etc. is present here.
Kelsey Grammer as the voice of Congorilla/William Glenmorgan
I just thought, since Grammer played Beast, why not go further and cast him as a full simian? He could combine that with the wit he displays as Sideshow Bob on the Simpsons, and you'd get a pretty decent performance as Congorilla.
In my take, the former Congo Bill (whose history is present) for some time had been doing lecture tours (I just thought of what Moriarty was doing in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows), teaching about what he found and learned while on safari throughout Africa. He's also a staunch activist for animal rights/nature preservation.
Elijah Wood as the voice of Starman/Mikaal Tomas
I got this idea from how Wood is currently voicing another (cyber-)spaceman, Beck on Tron: Legacy. I think he'd have the right voice for the second bearer of the Starman name, though there might be a guest appearance from Jack Knight (and Ted Knight in flashbacks).
Tomas, in this take, has for the past couple of years been rooming with former Global Guardian and former Justice League International member Tazmanian Devil.
Daniel Dae Kim as the voice of Green Arrow/Connor Hawke
Yep, here's the one addition I mentioned earlier! I added Hawke to the team roster because A) a Justice League show with a member of the Arrow clan as an established founder would be different, and B) Connor's had no media exposure. I thought Kim would be great as the voice of one of Oliver Queen's pride n' joys.
Here, Hawke, like Dick Grayson, would help ground the team a bit, since those two are the only non-powered members of the League. Ollie's retired and become mayor of Star City, with Dinah Lance now his wife but still Black Canary (who has been an active member of the Birds of Prey). Hawke joined the League at Ollie's insistence, feeling that he might do better with the team than he did.
Their supporting cast includes:
-LL Cool J as the voice of Cyborg
-Peter Jessop as the voice of Red Tornado
-Natalia Cigliuti as the voice of Oracle/Barbara Gordon
-Scott Porter as the voice of Hourman/Rick Tyler
-Ogie Banks as the voice of Mr. Miracle/Shilo Norman
-Ming-Na as the voice of Dr. Light/Kimiyo Hoshi
Now that we have established characters out of the way, let's get to the remaining episodes I came up with:
Episodes 9 and 10: War of the Gems, Parts 1 and 2
Based on another planned but never-executed James Robinson story arc, the team finds itself contacted by Amethyst, the former princess and current queen of House Amethyst in Gemworld. Her kingdom and those of others have come under attack by the forces of Dark Opal in a last-ditch effort to take over the realm, and she needs their help to turn the tide in the war for Gemworld, and end Dark Opal's lust for power once and for all.
In this episode -
Emilia Clarke as the voice of Amethyst/"Amy Winston"
Her work on Game of Thrones inspired this pick, and I think Clarke would be fantastic playing someone reconciling their life as an ordinary young woman on Earth with that of her true heritage as royalty in another dimension.
In terms of Amethyst's look, while I'm not a fan of the New 52, I think her Sword of Sorcery outfit would work, combined with the personality of the pre-New 52 version of Amy.
Roger Rees as the voice of Dark Opal
Oddly enough, I was inspired by his role of the Sheriff of Rottingham in Mel Brooks's "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" (1993). Despite it being a comical performance, he really did give off that "sleazy nobleman" duality in the portrayal, and if he really did a more serious take, that is what I would want for Dark Opal.
Episodes 11-13: Worlds Collide and Unite, Parts 1-3
*This is an original story by yours truly, using characters from Deviantart member Red-Rum-18. His page, specifically his "New Amalgam Comics" folder, is found here: http://red-rum-18.deviantart.com/gallery/10467425.*
The team is approached by Rip Hunter and Harbinger (who isn't dead in this continuity), members of the multiverse-patrolling team called the Linear Men, with an alert to a great danger that threatens not only the multiverse, but also the entire OMNIverse. To win against the danger, they need to join forces with a team from another multiverse, one that one incarnation of the Justice League has fought alongside before--the Avengers. (See my fancast for "Justice League/Avengers": http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fan_fic/news/?a=76564.) Hunter and Harbinger bring the team to the Bleed, the realm between multiverses, where there they meet with the Avengers (using a lineup based loosely on the Heroic Age incarnation) and the two members of the Exiles who alerted them, Blink and Morph. There, both sets of extradimensional travelers introduce a fifth protector, one from the third multiverse: Access (who you may know from the actual Amalgam Comics event of the 90's), and it's he who reveals the extent of the threat comes from his multiverse, known as the Amalgam Multiverse. This is the only one in the omniverse (of three) where two individuals from the League's and Avengers' respective multiverses share the same counterpart, and from one of their alternate earths came the enemy they must fight against: Earth 1-Maglama's Revenge Syndicate (the Crime Syndicate/the Dark Avengers). A mysterious benefactor gave them the technology that would allow them to travel between multiverses, and there they would stir the embodiments of the DCU and MU (in the form of the Blue and Red 'brothers' from DC vs. Marvel--their 'sister' is yellow) into fighting one another, and from there, weaken them to the point where they can be destroyed and trigger a new Big Bang. One member from the League partners up with an Avenger to travel to a different Earth in each of the three multiverses to face down a member of the Syndicate:
1. Supergirl and Captain America (Bucky Barnes)--a nod to their shared counterpart, Soldiergirl. They take on the Syndicate's leader, Ultra-Patriot.
2. Batman and Iron Man--as a nod to Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark's shared counterpart, Iron Bat, a founder of the Justice Avengers. (Dick's shared counterpart is with War Machine, in the form of Warwing [the former Red Guard (Robin/Guardsman)], who in an alternate future becomes Iron Bat 2.0.) The two of them take on Biocide.
3. Donna and Thor, who take on Poseidon and Beta-Ray Woman.
4. Jesse Quick and Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew), who take on Captain Quick.
5. Jade and She-Hulk--as a nod to their shared counterpart She-Nova, a member of the Justice Avengers and the Green Nova Corps. They fight against Red Power.
6. Congorilla and Silverclaw, who find themselves up against two of the Syndicate's reserves, Moonwing (Bloodwing/Moonstone as Ms. Marvel) and Ammo (Deadeye/Bullseye as Hawkeye).
7. Starman and Luke Cage, who fight against Syndicate reserves Doxie Arataz (Annataz Arataz/Toxie Doxie) and Red Cat (White Cat/Red She-Hulk).
8. Green Arrow and Black Panther (Shuri), who fight against the deadliest of the Syndicate members, Dark Claw.
Meanwhile, Access and the others journey to find out who the mysterious benefactor is, until they run into him. When the Leaguers and Avengers manage to find victory over the Syndicate, they are transported to the citadel of the benefactor, who turns out to be a reborn Krona, last seen trapped in a cosmic egg. The egg hatched, giving birth to the Amalgam Multiverse, and Krona was there to witness it. It is revealed that the lingering energies from the DCU and MU he absorbed were what led to the unique attributes of the Amalgam Multiverse, including the creation of his own counterpart, Krona Saal (Krona/Garthan Saal, a Nova villain). He had also been driven mad by witnessing such an event of creation, to the point where he now wants to restart it all and create a single universe in his own image. Now the League and the Avengers, along with Access, the Linear Men and the Exiles, must unite to stop Krona from achieving this goal. At the end of episode 13, Jesse reveals her intention of taking a bit of leave from the team to deal with her pregnancy (which was seen at the end of Justice League of America vol. 2 #60), but lets the rest of the team know she's already got a replacement lined up. Said replacement then speeds into the meeting room, revealing himself to be none-other-than former League member and former Titan Wally West, the third Flash.
In this episode--
+Dimension-Hoppers
-Colin Ferguson as the voice of Rip Hunter
Being a fan of Eureka, I thought Ferguson would be the right choice to voice the DCU's favorite time traveler this side of Booster Gold (his own father, ironically). I picture Hunter in this cartoon wearing the costume you see here, but clean-shaven and with brown hair.
-Lacey Chabert as the voice of Harbinger/Lyla Michaels
Chabert's been on a recent comic book character roll as of late, voicing Gwen Stacy, Zatanna, and Quake of the Secret Warriors. They're reason enough I felt that she'd be a decent Harbinger.
-Stephanie Lemelin as the voice of Blink/Clarice Ferguson
Lemelin was great as Artemis on the mucho-missed Young Justice, and since she has yet to play a character on the other side of the fence, I thought Blink would be a good choice.
-Rob Paulsen (imitating Jim Carrey) as the voice of Morph/Kevin Sydney
Having read few Exiles comics, I always pictured Morph sounding a lot like Jim Carrey as both Ace Ventura and the Mask. It was with that idea in mind that I cast Paulsen, who's got a great voiceover resume and would absolutely kill it when playing the funnyman of the Exiles.
*Putting these four together was no coincidence, as in Red-Rum-18's New Amalgam project, all four are mixed: the resulting characters are Rip Morpher and Event.
-Will Friedle as the voice of Access/Axel Asher
In my show's take on the character, his parents come from the two original multiverses. His father came from the DCU, while his mom came from the MU. Both wound up in the newly-created Amalgam Multiverse, and as a result, he contains vibrational frequencies native to both multiverses. As for picking Friedle--he's got a long resume of lending his voice to multiple comic-based shows, so for him, Access would be a bit of old hat.
+The Avengers
The team I present here combines members from the Heroic Age lineup, a couple of the founding members, a couple from the New Avengers era, one from the Roger Stern years, one from the Busiek/Perez era, and one completely new face. This includes:
-David Boreanaz as the voice of Captain America/Bucky Barnes
In my take, like in the comics Bucky is allowed to retain the mantle while Steve Rogers takes over as head of SHIELD (allowing Nick Fury to lead his Secret Warriors). Like most times I used him, picking Boreanaz was inspired by his turn as Hal Jordan in "Justice League: The New Frontier".
-Jeffery Donovan as the voice of Iron Man/Tony Stark
I've seen people use Donovan as ol' shellhead in fancasts, and after seeing part of an episode of Burn Notice, I think he'd be a decent voice for the armored Avenger. A lot of users liked my casting him for my "Iron Man: Legacy of Doom" animated adaptation.
-Eric Allan Kramer as the voice of Thor
While Kramer has played Thor before (in one of the Incredible Hulk TV movies), here he'd get a shot at playing a more comic-accurate version of the god of thunder.
-Chi McBride as the voice of Luke Cage
I honestly think Chi would've made a great Luke Cage in an animated series (especially in a show similar to Justice League Unlimited), and I think his Nick Fury is average at best. From browsing his resume, he's played a good deal of streetwise characters, and Cage would be a piece of cake for him.
-Vanessa Marshall as the voice of Spider-Woman/Jessica Drew
While also having a decent amount of voice cred for comic-based TV, there was an even greater purpose for casting Marshall as Drew. Her mother happens to be Joan Van Ark (yes, THAT Joan Van Ark), who was the first actress to voice Spider-Woman in the character's 1979 cartoon series. So in a way, Marshall (using a British accent here) would be following in her mom's footsteps.
-Nicole Sullivan as the voice of She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters
Sullivan is an actress whose voice I knew immediately was perfect for an animated She-Hulk. For those who watched Kim Possible, her character of Shego would be proof enough, but then there's The Secret Saturdays and her character of Drew Saturday....Tough, brassy, but sweet at times. All perfect for anyone taking on the Jade Giantess.
-Alanna Ubach as the voice of Silverclaw/Maria De Guadalupe Santiago
For picking Ubach, she has played Latino characters before in the form of the title character in "El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera" and, more fitting for this site, Liz Allan in "The Spectacular Spider-Man" (where she was depicted as Puerto Rican). I think she would be fine voicing a superhero, especially one like Silverclaw, who's yet to have any media exposure.
-Danielle Nicolet as the voice of Black Panther/Shuri
I added Shuri to the team because I thought it'd be fun to see a different Black Panther with her own skills and abilities. In this take, T'Challa has taken to full-time duty as the King of Wakanda, and passed the mantle onto his sister Shuri, who proves to be even more adept at it than he was. He also encourages her to join the Avengers, reflecting on his own time with the team. As for picking Nicolet, she's got a decent amount of geek cred in the form of her role on Warehouse 13, and voicing Storm in both the X-Men anime and the Marvel Heroes: Battle For Earth video game (where she also voices the Black Widow).
+The Revenge Syndicate
From Red-Rum-18's description: "The Revenge Syndicate (Dark Avengers+Crime Syndicate) are new super-villains from an alternate Earth where they take advantage of a massive civil war between superheroes, leaving a power gap. Now the big dogs on campus, the RS came to our Earth, with help from the Secret Society of Evil (Masters of Evil+Secret Society of Super Villains), to pose as the "New Justice Avengers" after the real Justice Avengers (Avengers + Justice League) and other heroes disappeared in the climax of the Imperislaught crisis (Onslaught+Imperiex)."
While I did use the Crime Syndicate in my previous fancast, I thought this would be a cool set of villains for a season finale, and I am a big fan of Red-Rum-18's New Amalgam Comics. The lineup here is meant as a nod to the original founding Justice League members, in the form of:
1. Tim Matheson as the voice of Ultra-Patriot (Ultraman/Iron Patriot)
From Red-Rum-18: "Born on the Earth variation designated 1-Maglama (where our Earth is designated Amalgam-1) Lt. Norman Kent of the US Air Force is an astronaut in NASA with political aspirations (he secretly had malicious intentions for his potential political influence). On a deep-space mission, Lt. Kent's crew was killed in an explosion and only he survived; he discovered a meteor made from a blue variant of kreetonite, a radioactive mineral created when the planet Halaton (Hala+Krypton) exploded; the blue kreetonite gave Norman superhuman abilities and he returned to Earth with a sample. Back on Earth, scientists studying the blue kreetonite and Norman's altered genes discovered that lack of constant exposure to the radiation was killing him, so they developed a suit to stabilize him. Waiting until the perfect moment to escape and use his new abilities for himself, Norman learned of the superhero civil war (in our world, this civil war never happened and Lt. Norman Kent died under mysterious circumstances) and exploited a huge gap in power left by the near-decimation of the superhero community. Norman modified the suit to house a piece of blue kreetonite in the chest, and he started gaining more powers from prolonged exposure. As the Ultra-Patriot, Norman Kent became America's newest and beloved hero, but he turned violent and hostile quickly when he discovered that he would soon run out of blue kreetonite because of it's drastically dwindling half-life due to exposure to Earth elements. He took over America with little resistance and ordered the cosmological harvest of the blue kreetonite at the meteor he found. Meanwhile, in our universe, a mister Paul Osborn (Norman Osborn+Paul Westfield) [Ultra's counterpart] has taken over Task Force S (SHIELD+Task Force X) at the behest his allies in the Secret Society of Evil; studying a form of energy, Paul's scientists at Project: Weapon C (Weapon X+Project CADMUS) accessed the multiverse, beginning with Ultra-Patriot's Earth. Paul Osborn made contact with Norman Kent and proposed that, with an infinite number of universes, there would be an unlimited amount of blue kreetonite to exploit; Ultra-Patriot agreed to help the SSoE in exchange for all that blue kreetonite."
For picking Matheson, he's lent his voice to DC Comics-based shows going all the way back to Batman: The Animated Series. His voicing Jarvis Kord (the mad scientist uncle of Ted Kord) on Batman: The Brave and the Bold inspired me casting him as Ultra-Patriot.
2. Milo Ventimiglia as the voice of Dark Claw (Owlman/Daken)
"The remains of an alien of the species Czarnadian was discovered on Earth, one with the same accelerated-healing genetics as Wolf (Wolverine+Lobo), a Czarnadian who served on the X-Patrol (X-Men+Doom Patrol). Scientists experimented on the DNA of the alien and attempted to mix it with human genes; while this phase of the project was shut down on the main Earth, in the past of the Revenge Syndicate's Earth, the scientists covertly impregnated a young Maria Kane (later Maria Wayne [Maria Stark+Martha Wayne], mother of Tony “Iron Bat” Wayne [Iron Man+Batman]) and she gave the child up for adoption. She had a brief rendezvous with a Japanese socialite before her relationship and marriage to Howard Wayne (Howard Stark+Thomas Wayne), so she assumed the child was his. The boy, Thomas Akihiro II, was raised by the Akihiro family in Tokyo until, when Tommy was 8, his father was killed by a dirty cop. Tom ran away and met a master thief called Romuchil (Romulus+alternate Joe Chill), who taught him skills in burglary, stealth, and disguise. When Tom's alien genetics kicked in when he hit puberty, he discovered his ability to heal quickly from any injury. Scientists from America contacted him and offered him a whole lot of money for participation in an experiment; Tom agreed and they bound an organic metal to his skeleton, along with blades that extend from his wrists. As Tom recovered from the procedure, he got suspicious and investigated, discovering not only his alien genetics, but how the project heads have been observing him from infancy, and their plans to make him into a living weapon. Tom flew into a rage and assassinated those who he felt ruined his life, discovering the blades they implanted in him. Hateful of the government, Tom returned to Japan to train under the deadly ninjas of the League of the Hand (The Hand+League of Assassins) and became the merciless Dark Claw. Commandos under the Americans' command captured Romuchil and tortured him, but his committed suicide to avoid spilling info on Tom. Dark Claw was the first recruited by Ultra-Patriot into the nebulous Revenge Syndicate."
I was inspired by Ventimiglia's turn as Logan in the Wolverine anime from a while back, and while he wasn't that great a Wolverine, I think playing a variant of Daken would be the next best thing for him.
3. Gina Torres as the voice of Beta Ray Woman (Superwoman/Beta Ray Bill)
"At the genesis of the Amazardians (Asgardians+Amazonians), the creator Borzaz (Bor+Arzaz) thought he could use the souls of the evil, stuck in purgatory, to give life to the bodies of ocean clay and give them new purpose and redemption, but his initial creations turned on him and tried to steal his might. Borzaz defeated his failures, the Korbizons (Korbinites+Earth-3 Amazons) and used the souls of the good instead to create the Amazardians on Earth, including his beloved son Hippodin (Odin+Hippolyta) and Hippodin's future daughter Thorana the Thunder Woman (Thor+Wonder Woman). The evil creatures Borzaz though he had slain were biding their time, however, until they could reveal themselves through a champion to conquer the overworld. Generations of selective inbreeding created a powerful Korbizons woman of that race would would strike at the Amazardians at their weakest and destroy them all. Except that latter part was taken care of for them in the Revenge Syndicate's universe, when Thorana died and the Olympians, major enemies of the Amazardians, used her essence to create Deicide (Ragnarok+Devastation) to eradicate them. After Deicide went off the rails and had to be banished to The Bleed, the Korbizons reclaimed their original homelands, near the weakened Olympians' territory. The Olympians were too weak after Deicide's betrayal to fight, so they exiled themselves to survive the Korbizons' attack. Ultra-Patriot, the definitive evil America in this world, made a bargain with the Korbizons: allow him to have their strongest warrior and, in exchange, their independence is secure. The warrior woman of the Korbizons would only agree to her king's bargain with Ultra-Patriot if the “outsider” bested her in battle. Her mastery of Beta Ray Energy was no match for his blue kreetonite radiation blasts and she was defeated. Beta Ray Woman, also known by the human alias Billie Lane, was the latest recruit of the Revenge Syndicate."
Torres voiced a version of Superwoman in Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, and I believe lightning could strike twice with her voicing this character. Beta Ray Woman, in addition to her Cursed Flail, can temporarily transform into a horse-like monster with greatly-enhanced powers but lessened intellect as well.
4. John Rhys-Davies as the voice of Poseidon (stand-in for Barracuda and Aries)
"Poseidon is a member of the Olympians, a royal family of ancient, immortal metamutants (mutants+metahumans) once worshiped as gods. Poseidon himself is the elder brother of Zeus, God of Storms and patriarch of the Olympians; many humans created the grand island empire of Atlantis in honor of Poseidon, but Zeus grew jealous and sank Atlantis into the ocean, while Poseidon countered by making the Atlanteans into amphibians that can survive under water. The modern-day Atlantis of universe Amalgam-1 is ruled by King Namorin, aka Aquariner (Sub-Mariner+Aquaman), but on 1-Maglama Earth, Atlantis was annihilated by the superhero civil war, leaving Namorin dead and the survivors exiled in Latvasnia (Latveria+Kasnia), and then the Olympians' weapon Deicide turned on them after killing the Amazardians. One of the few survivors of this slaughter, Poseidon helped to banish Deicide to the dimensional void. In exchange for his services, Beta Ray Woman, whom also hated the Amazardians, promised that the Revenge Syndicate would help restore the Olympians' rightful rule."
Davies has voiced a Greek god before in the form of Hades on Justice League, and fittingly enough once voiced Thor in both the 90's Fantastic Four and Incredible Hulk cartoons. It was a no-brainer to cast him as the god of the sea.
5. Wentworth Miller as the voice of Captain Quick (CSA Johnny Quick/Noh-Varr as Captain Marvel)
"Johnny Varr was a dirty cop from the New Metropolis (New York City+Metropolis) of 1-Maglama who was pursuing a metacriminal over the Hudson River, when said criminal blasted his boat out of the water and left him for dead. He woke up in the grasp of the Intelligence Squad, who fished his lifeless body out of the river and revived him for one of their dastardly experiments. They had another project going on at the same time as the Red Power experiments, and Johnny was their newest test dummy. They injected him with their attempt at recreating the serum that created the heroic Super-Soldier (Captain America+Superman), using previously-undiscovered fresh DNA from a Kreetonian (Kree+Kryptonian), an almost-extinct alien species which was the basis of the original formula. Johnny was tortured for days, and made addicted to the serum, which (at the current iteration) could only give him super-speed. When Red Power turned on the Intelligence Squad and wrecked their HQ, Johnny escaped the facility. The withdrawal from the serum was killing him and driving him insane, so Ultra-Patriot found the data on the serum and invited Johnny to join the Revenge Syndicate in exchange for more of the serum. As Captain Quick, Johnny served dutifully on the team, torturing miniaturized Kreetonians from the shrunken city of Kan-Lar (Kree-Lar+Kandor), which they raided from the deceased Super-Soldier's HQ, to get more DNA for the serum."
While I thought Miller wasn't that great as Deathstroke on Young Justice, I think he would be excellent at voicing this super-fast crooked cop who's always in for a quick fix (pun intended). I don't know if Miller's ever played wiseguys before, so this might be new for him.
6. Kevin Schon as the voice of Red Power (Power Ring/Red Hulk)
"The Green Giant (Hulk+Green Lantern [Hal Jordan]), though not presumed dead, had not been seen since before the events of the superhero civil war in 1-Maglama. In fact, there had been no activity related to the Green Nova Corps (Nova Corps+Green Lantern Corps) on that Earth for a while. In the mean time, a new corps had emerged to take advantage of the Green Novas' weakness. The Corps Accursed (Legion Accursed+Red Lantern Corps), empowered by the red light of rage, sought destruction of the Green Novas and even attacked their rivals in the Riot Corps (Riot Squad+Sinestro Corps) for interferring. Voltsher (Vanisher+Volthoom), a member of the Corps Accursed, had fallen to Earth after being critically injured, and his power battery and Red Force Ring were damaged. The Intelligence Squad (Intelligencia+Science Squad), an organization of evil super-geniuses, captured the alien and his tech, though Voltsher escaped without the tech using his alien species' innate teleportation powers. The Intelligence Squad harnessed the force ring technology and decided to make an empowered soldier, in the vein of Green Giant's origin, so they convinced decorated military officer Thaddeus Harrolds, who was desperate to save his sick step-daughter, to become their guinea pig. Implanting red power battery outlets into his body and then blasting him with gamma radiation, Thaddeus was mutated into Red Power. Red Power and other villains hired by the IS slaughter 1-Maglama's version of the Defending Society [Justice Society/Defenders], but Thaddeus betrays his former employers when he learns they have no intention of curing his step-daughter's condition. Red Power kills them and then uses the same procedure on her, turning Betty Lance into Red Cat. The two are then recruited into the Revenge Syndicate with promise to give them the ability to become human again, though Harrolds is wary due to the last time he had Greeks bearing gifts."
Schon's had experience with Hulk-like characters before, having voiced the Abomination and Major Glen Talbot in the 90's Hulk cartoon (as well as the comical Hulk-like character Proto-Clown on The Tick). I figured he'd do nicely, and in a way, where he previously played a major, now he'd be promoted!
7. Roger Cross as the voice of Biocide (Martian Mankiller/Mac Gargan as Venom)
"Jed MacDonald [J'edd J'aarkus/Mac Gargan] was the partner of private detective Dennis Gargan, until he betrayed him for a gangster. Jed ended up in prison and the heavily-injured Dennis was rebuilt as a cyborg and became the villain Squorp (Scorpion+Skorpio). In the universe of 1-Maglama, Jed MacDonald was offered his freedom by Thomas Akihiro in exchange for his loyalty; Jed was given the symbiote called Methyl (Venom+Match), which had been genetically rewritten to somewhat resemble when it was first bound to the hero Spider Boy (Spider-Man+Superboy). He became Biocide, a member of the Revenge Syndicate."
Being a fan of the SyFy series "Continuum", Cross does a great villain portrayal in his role as Travis, a member of the renegade Liber8 group. I thought he could use that to his advantage when voicing a character who pretty much could be a deadlier Travis.
+The Mastermind of the Whole Thing
-Leonard Nimoy as the voice of Krona
As stated before in my JLA/Avengers fancast, Nimoy's portrayal of Galvatron in 1986's "Transformers: The Movie" inspired me casting him as Krona. He would just work on so many levels, especially the voice.
+And finally, appearing at the end of the season finale...
Jerry O'Connell as the voice of the Flash/Wally West
