The Most Influential CBM Character of 2011:

With all of the great films and characters that were introduced to the CBM world in 2011, choosing the most influential character of the year was very, very difficult. After X-Men: First Class becoming the best CBM of the year, and Thor being the most successful in the box office, I came to the conclusion that Captain America is the most influential CBM character. Why, you may ask? As the main attraction of the 13th highest grossing film of the year, Captain America: First Avenger, we got a glimpse at the most patriotic hero ever to hit the big screen. The movie was good, although it was lacking on some minor things, many would agree that it was a good movie. Basically, this movie was just a prep up for the highly anticipated The Avengers film, bringing together some of our favorite heroes. But Captain America was the last big screen shot at us seeing the Avengers on the big screen, until the actual release date. Here we saw a look at the leader of the Avengers, a hard working Steve Rogers who goes through a epic adventure. Showing his determination, strength, and inner qualities, he brought out the good and just in a true superhero. Captain America helped symbolize what america is all about, and in the time period of WWII, this film exposed Captain America of his true potential. A fun, explosive film, Captain America is the superhero for children to idol, and for adults to love. Played by the perfect actor, Chris Evans, Captain America as the character, was spot on for what he needs to be in the future Avengers, and even Captain America sequels. This character was the final piece of the puzzle to get us ready for The Avengers, and as the year progresses on, Captain America will be the one character in our mind that sticks out, as we get ready to watch arguably one of the most anticipated CBM films ever. 2011 has been filled with good comic book movies, and an immense amount of interesting characters. As Thor, Magneto, Green Lantern can all stick out as influential characters, I believe Captain America has done the most to earn this tittle.

I think it should be Thor. He was the most tricky character to get on the big screen, but Marvel pulled it off with great success. And Chris Hemsworth was born to play the role.
Captain America was a bit underwhelming for me. After watching Thor, I expected Cap to be a lot better.

I agree with supes17 thor was excellent as was iron man and the incredible hulk but captain americad didn't have a decent story and was very rushed, I did enjoy it but the last quarter was terrible and you never saw cap's potential and lacked a decent storyline but can't wait for the avengers in may or april if like me you stay in the uk. 2012 will be the year of some excellent films

I think the script could have been better, it really flawed the film...but it was miles ahead than Iron Man 2

Ok Alucard365, you're cool.

It's one thing to have an opinion, but another thing entirely to insult another man over your obviously so priceless opinion.

Grow up.

Cap rocked dude! Magneto was a stand-out too, and Thor has now become mainstream .

Good article.

Captain America: The First Avenger was awesome. The ones that hate this movie probably liked Green Lantern. Lol

Captain America was shit tons better than Thor. Thor was a good film but it had barely any action and I didn't really care for any of the characters except Loki and Thor at times. The scene where Steve says to Dr. Erskin "I don't want to kill anybody. I just don't like bullies." That is a very touching moment and I was sold on cap as a character.

Nope, I hated Green Lantern. I liked Cap, but it wasn't as good as i thought it would be
