Ok, well lets start with the soapbox. I honestly enjoyed Ghost Rider because I ignored all those bad elements and deeply enjoyed seeing one of my favorite superheroes onscreen. The special effects were brilliant. I remember seeing a listing for the first film in a magazine spotlighting the
Daredevil film. All it said was that Nicolas Cage would star. At that time, I did not like Ghostie(still a little spidey fan), then scanning through a new pack of
Marvel Legends trading cards, I was introduced to The Punisher, and at that moment, I was immediately drawn to the darker characters. I root for them more than those Avengers and that Batman we are always hearing about.

I guess I'm weird because I'm not really anxious for Avengers or TDKR, because the trailer for the second film stole any anticipation I had for the others. I don't like to agree with every one else when Nicolas Cage's name is brought up, I believe he does make some good movies. Anyone that doesn't agree, I don't really care. Cage has been bashed so much and it's old, it goes around like the paper, and I'm not interested in hearing any more of it. Anyway, I was simply blown away by the trailer. The first trailer was good, but this trailer pretty much stepped up and did the job that the first should have done. As for what the sequel will have in store, it should do the same. The first was...well, put simply, a kids movie. It was so family friendly that "the most supernatural hero of all" didn't even intimidate my four year old cousin attending the film.
With bad direction, horrible acting, and battles that lasted a second, this movie was doomed. I do like Cage as an actor, as well as Sam Elliot and Peter Fonda. They were the only ones that gave the film some success to me. The acting in this new film looks top-notch, Blackout looks like blackout, and we have the most stone-cold, badass Ghost Rider yet, and this Ghost Rider looks bound determined to scare the shit out of some future movie-goers. It was as if
Crank directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor tore the pages out of
Road to Damnation, and somehow interpreted it on film. Genius.
I just love the fact that one of my favorites may actually be done one justice this time. I will always love though, when in the first film, Ghost Rider rides off of a rooftop, latches to a nearby window, and pulls himself to the side of the building and starts to ride down the building on his motorcycle. That is the best scene ever in any film I have seen, and I just wonder what the second one has in store. we'll just have to see.
Well guys and girls, that's it. If you liked the article, great. If not, than feel free to explain your takes on the new film. Play nice, and be as respectful as you can be. Nobody likes little brats to start in. Thanks for reading folks!
