JURASSIC WORLD Sequel Adds THE ORIGINALS & THE DETOUR Actress Daniella Pineda In A Key Role
Universal's upcoming J.A. Bayona-directed Jurassic World sequel has added another key piece to its already very impressive cast in The Originals and The Detour actress Daniella Pineda. Come take a look!
Variety is reporting that Daniella Pineda has joined the cast of Universal Pictures & Amblin Entertainment's highly anticipated sequel to their 2015 record-breaking, mega-blockbuster Jurassic World. Details on her role, just like everything else about the movie, are being kept under heavy lock-and-key, but the report does add that she is to be one of the new female leads.
She joins a cast headlined by Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol.2) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Black Mirror), who will reprise their roles from the previous film as Owen & Claire, respectively. Additionally, B.D. Wong (Gotham) is also expected to return in some capacity as the twisted geneticist Dr. Henry Wu, while the franchise newcomers currently consist of Toby Jones (Captain America: The First Avenger), Rafe Spall (Life of Pi), and Justice Smith (The Get Down), who all signed on late last year.
Production has been slated to begin this Spring in England with acclaimed director J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls; The Impossible) at the helm and a June 22, 2018 release date in mind. Original Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow and his writing partner Derek Connolly have taken on scripting duties.
Pineda is best known for her roles on several popular television shows, including The Originals & The Vampire Diaries as Sophie Deveraux, American Odyssey as Ruby Simms, The Detour as Vanessa, and High Maintenance as Phaedra.
