A new trailer for Lana Wachowski's The Matrix Resurrections should be with us any day now, but in the meantime, Warner Bros. has debuted a series of colorful character posters spotlighting some of the new faces we'll meet when the movie hits theaters next month.
The banners spotlight mysterious new characters The Analyst (Neil Patrick Harris), Lexy (Eréndira Ibarra), and Bug (Jessica Henwick), as well as the younger take on Morpheus who'll be played by Aquaman and Watchmen star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
We've just added a few late-comers. These posters give us us a first look at Priyanka Chopra's character along with Daniel Bernhardt as Agent Johnson, and original trilogy heroes Neo (Keanu Reeves) and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss).
“The Matrix Resurrections is a continuation of the story established in the first Matrix film… 20 years after the first film, the franchise that helped define pop culture at the turn of the century is back for a continuation and extension of the original movie. A mind-bending new adventure with action and epic scale, it’s set in a familiar yet even more provocative world where reality is more subjective than ever and all that’s required to see the truth is to free your mind"
Other franchise returnees include Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe, Lambert Wilson as The Merovingian, and Daniel Bernhardt as Agent Johnson. Also joining the cast will be Andrew Caldwell, Priyanka Chopra, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Ellen Hollman, Eréndira Ibarra, Toby Onwumere, Christina Ricci, Max Riemelt, and Brian J. Smith.
The Matrix Resurrections will be released in theaters and on HBO Max simultaneously on December 22.
