Caesar: Rise of the Apes Pushed Back to Thanksgiving

Showing confidence in the relaunch of the Planet of the Apes film series in the form of Caesar: Rise of the Apes, 20th Century Fox is moving the film to Thanksgiving weekend.

Originally scheduled for release on June 24th, the studio believes that the film is strong enough that it can hold its own at the box office through the holiday season.

No doubt that it's also serves the potential franchise better to move it out of the way of the summer sweepstakes and avoiding such films as Green Lantern, X-Men: First Class, Cowboys and Aliens, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2, etc. By moving it, Caesar has a better chance of launching a series of films.

Wow this was going to open the same day as Cars 2 and the week before Transformers 3. Fox actually made the right decision by moving this later.

I cannot tell you what a fan I am of the Apes films, so if this is what it takes to allow the film to shine and "make a name" for itself, I'm all for it.

Giant waste of everybody´s time.

The people inside the movie don´t want to do it.
The CGI dude don´t want to do it.
The comic book guy don´t want to hear about it either.

You´re using Phoenix Down in the wrong franchise.

I like it. Could be really good. Think of the strengths in the casting and the ability to draw parallels to our own society. The ape films were always good for having an outside view of ourselves as a society
