Young Asa Butterfield Tweeted earlier that he was locked in for the lead role of child prodigy Ender Wiggin in Ender's Game and now Variety report that Summit Entertainment are also on the hunt for the adult lead for the movie; Colonel Hyrum Graff. Apparently Viggo Mortenson was being sought for the role but that fell through, and now sights are set on Han Solo/Indiana Jones/Rick Deckard himself, Harrison Ford..

Now that the producers have found their young lead, their focus turns to the adult lead of Colonel Hyrum Graff, the Commander of Training for the International Fleet, an elite boys’ military academy. Viggo Mortensen had been targeted for the role, but those talks didn’t work out and producers are now discussing another group of veteran thesps, including Harrison Ford

No indication yet as to which other actors might be included in that group but you guys will know as soon as we do. Gigi Pritzker and Linda McDonough are producing Ender's Game with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. The movie is being directed by Gavin Hood.

I wasn't in much of a hurry to see this, but I could be if Ford is cast. Dude's a phenomenal actor.

Until Gavin Hood is replaced.....I'm afraid I have ZERO interest in this film.

Loved the books. I'd rather have Tommy Lee Jones as Graff, though.

For some reason i always envisioned either Keifer Sutherland or Kevin Bacon as Graff. when i initially read the book i pictured Keifer and recently a friend of mine brought up that Bacon would own the role and i can definitely see that

Okey again what is wrong with Gavin Hood. Dude has made few good films. Rendition and Tsotsi.
The fact that he was part that horrific Wolverine project doesnt mean he is a bad director. Like i´ve said before most blame from that abomination goes to Fox and its chairman Tom Rothman.

I myself cant wait to see what they do with this.
Hopefully its faithful to the book.

Ford wouldnt be bad choice as Col. Graff.

Its not always the director who is the blame. Producers can be pretty assholes sometimes when they have a chance to make money. And money is often more important than the direction of the movie.

If only Fox was solely responsible for one of the CBMs i hated most, which was XO:Wolverine. But no, Gavin Hood is the one that shot the scenes which were by far the biggest issue i had with the film. The cinematography was excruciatingly horrendous. How can a mere SCENE (action or otherwise) make me cringe more than any dialog ever written? I'm never watching this unless it's for free, after hearing about many positive reviews of it, and especially if nothing better's on tv. I'd watch reruns of anything with Gordon Ramsey in it before sitting down for two hours in front of a Gavin Hood film.
