J.J. Abrams Futuristic Android Cop Show Receives Pilot Order

@ Dionysios - Well, I've watched pretty much everything he's done. IMO he's great at setting up shows but then he bails out to do another project and the show suffers for it. Alias was great until the third season, when he focused on Lost. And he is credited for Lost, but the idea for it came from Jeffrey Lieber, Abrams rewrote the pilot to pitch it to network execs and just added the monster and the supernatural elements. His movies are OK I guess... but I think he's overrated on TV, and some of his shows were terrible (Alcatraz, Undercovers).

He's not that much different from Whedon in terms of how his shows operate, there's these little things called showrunners and just because you created the show it doesn't make it you.
@JJ2112 you couldn't be more wrong, once Leiber actually saw the show he felt embarrassed that he pursued credit for it as he came up with a similar show for ABC but Abrams and Lindelof came up with LOST. And then Abrams did the pilot and helped on a handful of episodes but it was mostly Lindelof who controlled LOST.
People forget that Abrams is a producer and just because his name is attached doesn't make it his show, just like with Alcatraz or with Rrevolution. He didn't create the shows he just produced them as he wanted to see the idea come to life and he puts in his two cents every now and again. He's not streteching himself too far as Trek is done and dusted and he's not attached to anything else other than TV but once again that's as a producer which basically means it's just his company making the show. He's going to be great and I can't wait for Ep VII.
