Almost exactly a year after it wrapped filming, Universal's Jurassic World: Dominion has officially completed post-production - seven months before its hotly-awaited June release date.
Director Colin Trevorrow shared the news on Instagram earlier this week, after presumably watching a final cut of the film at Skywalker Sound with the proper sound mix installed.
While some have already been able to preview exciting footage from the film via a five-minute prologue set 65 million years in the past which played before IMAX screenings of F9: The Fast Saga over the summer, it's now fair to wonder when we'll be treated to a proper trailer for one of 2022's biggest blockbusters.
Considering the original Jurassic World debuted its first trailer on Thanksgiving in 2014 and Fallen Kingdom launched its teaser trailer the first week of December in 2017, it's probably safe to say that the first Dominion trailer should arrive sometime within the next few weeks, possibly even before the end of the month if the studio decides to do another Thanksgiving drop during the Thursday night football game.
Either way, it should be with us before Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on December 17, as that Sony/Marvel title will very likely serve as the most ideal launching pad for a number of 2022's biggest trailers.
The star-studded cast of Dominion will feature Jurassic alums Chris Pratt (Owen Grady), Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing), 3x Golden Globe-nominee Sam Neill (Alan Grant), Academy Award-winner Laura Dern (Ellie Sattler), Academy Award-nominee Jeff Goldblum (Ian Malcolm), Jake Johnson (Lowery Cruthers), Omar Sy (Barry Sembane), Justice Smith (Franklin Webb), Daniella Pineda (Zia Rodriguez), Isabella Sermon (Maisie Lockwood), and BD Wong (Dr. Henry Wu).
Newcomers to the franchise include Mamoudou Athie (Sorry for Your Loss), DeWanda Wise (She's Gotta Have It), Dichen Lachman (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and Scott Haze (Venom). Details on their roles are currently being kept under wraps. Campbell Scott (The Amazing Spider-Man) has also joined the cast as Dodgson.
Jurassic World: Dominion is slated to roar into theaters June 10, 2022.
