The Intergalactic Adventures of Max Cloud, or Max Cloud for short, released on digital at the end of 2020. The physical Blu-ray and DVD release, however, will be with us in just under two weeks.

Max Cloud features a cast that comic book movie and television fans will be familiar with, such as Franz Drameh (Legends of Tomorrow, Flash), Tommy Flanagan (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Sons of Anarchy), John Hannah (Marvel's Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Mummy), and Scott Adkins (Doctor Strange, X-Men Origins: Wolverine).

To promote the digital release, we brought you exclusive clips and interviews with director Martin Owen and actors Scott Adkins and Elliot Langridge. Now, to help drum up excitement for the upcoming physical release, we have a few more exciting conversations to share, starting with Sally Collett, who both wrote and acted in the film.

She played the role of Rexy in the movie, so we picked her brain about what it was like to write a character she knew she would be playing and vice versa. Going into detail about the process, Collett (Twist, Bounce) tells us about separating those two roles and contributing in multiple different ways.

"When we started, we knew the characters that were going to be in the movie. It was then such a quick process that we had to write it; casting was happening while still writing it. And then Martin was like, 'Hey, why don't you do Rexy?' And then I was like, 'Oh, we haven't even finished writing it yet.' And I don't want it to kind of change the way I was writing it. And you're like, 'Oh, well, I might want to do this. And maybe she could do this.' I was like, I don't really want to change it. But then I thought, f*ck it. So that was it. And so basically, I did know that I was going to be playing that part.

I think there was a moment where, because this was the first feature that I'd written on and the first feature that I'd had a lead role in, it was many firsts for me. So I was shi**ing myself. During the writing process, I really had to literally only think about the writing and think about the story. That comes first. And then once we'd finished and handed it over, that was me going, okay, I'm out of this now. I need to think about Rexy, who she is, what she's about, what like how she's going to come across on the screen."

Listen to our full chat with Sally below, in which she explains why the film's name was shortened, helping to direct, and much more. Be sure to check out the trailer and synopsis for Max Cloud and share your thoughts in the usual spot!
