Tom Cruise stars in Oblivion, an original and groundbreaking cinematic event from the director of TRON: Legacy and the producer of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man's confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.

Jack Harper is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack's mission is nearly complete.

Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.

Oblivion stars Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Melissa Leo. The film is set to hit theaters April 19th.

I'll say it - I like Tom Cruise. Nuttiness aside, I end up appreciating his movies. Really looking forward to this one!

Seems like the story is humans actually lost the war and he is cleaning it up for the aliens when he meets humans living underground who tell him the truth, not sure how that chick fits in though...

Cruise definitely blurs the line between talent (I can't call it genius) and insanity.

@StreetProdigy

My thoughts as well. I imagine the chick fits in as the people of Earth are infected with some virus or something, so we put people in orbit so they'd be safe until the virus goes away, but the aliens pretty much killed all of those pods so she's one of the last ones remaining.

Or she just has knowledge of how to rebuild our civilization.

Honestly be surprised if that was not the case. Pretty much talking out of my ass since I can't watch the video.

So this could either be an average film or one of those rare films that blows your mind.
