Marvel Comics Artist Phil Noto Shares His Incredible STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI Poster

The posters for Star Wars: The Last Jedi have been a tad underwhelming to say the least but comic book artist Phil Noto has taken to social media to share his own, far superior design. Check it out...

Thanks to Marvel Comics artist Phil Noto, we have what is arguably the best poster for Star Wars: The Last Jedi to date. This isn't an officially released piece of material but rather something he's done in his own time. However, the Black Widow and Inhumans artist is no stranger to this Galaxy Far, Far Away as he's previously worked on titles like Poe Dameron and the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story adaptation.

Unfortunately, it currently appears as if we can forget about getting a Drew Struzan poster for Star Wars: The Last Jedi because Disney has already released a series of one-sheets for the movie.

Noto's work is undeniably impressive, though, and it would be no bad thing if this were to be released as an official poster. What we've got so far certainly haven't been terrible but they're pretty standard fare for blockbusters and really not up there with what previous instalments have delivered. What do you guys think? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

While I do personally prefer the classic Struzan styled posters, both the teaser and theatrical posters for 'The Last Jedi' have been pretty splendid, and the character posters visually striking.

"The posters for this have been underwhelming". "Standard for blockbuster". F***ing what? Those things are unique, gorgeous and have received near unanimous praise.

My personal theory since the end of The Clone Wars show and the release of The Force Awakens has been and remains that the Prequel Trilogy set the stage- we saw the decimation of both orders. The Original Trilogy then saw the end of the Sith, and I believe that the Sequel Trilogy will see the end of the Jedi.
In Eastern philosophy, one can only become whole when they embrace and accept all aspects on oneself.
Thus, I think Kylo will remain dark and Rey will remain light, but the two will unite to defeat Snoke and bring Balance in the Force, forging something new together.
The best of both sides, without the prejudices and dogma of the Sith and Jedi institutions.

@DentonKnight -
"Gray Jedi" is the label you're looking for my friend.
And yeah, i agree, i've been saying that since they released the first trailer!

@Doomsday8888 - I prefer not to use the Grey Jedi term myself, as technically anything other than light would not be considered a Jedi, but yes, in terms of a third way, a middle ground of the Force, I do think we need to see this explored on screen.

@DentonKnight
I was actually about to put "Jedi" under quotation marks, because yeah, you're right, in fact sometimes they're called just "Gray" to distance themselves from Jedi.
It's the closest thing that comes to my mind, there's a lot of good stuff that they could...put them in continuity with movies, maybe they'll use another term for Luke who knows...

@DentonKnight - I think that's an interesting direction and it seems in line with the whole "Time for the Jedi to end" thing, but it'd work better if the films and series had portrayed the Sith/dark side as something more complex. We only ever see the dark side as a corrupting influence and the Sith doing pretty objectively terrible things. If at least one story highlighted a flaw of the jedi order and a noble attribute of the sith, we'd have the setup that both orders are out of balance.

@BIGBMH - Pretty much all six seasons of The Clone Wars show and the Prequels show how corrupt the Jedi Order was, they had become too dogmatic, too mired in politics of state and hypocritical of their own beliefs and code, with even Yoda recognising he had become part of the problem; and while the Sith are indeed evil, the Dark Side itself is shown to be neceesary and not wholeheartedly despicable, simply a part of a larger whole.
For example, we see the Nightsisters of Dathomir, who use a different form of the Force, but one that does seem to lean more towards the Dark Side, but they are not necessarily evil.
And on Mortis, we see the Son, an embodiment of the Dark Side who genuinely does love and care for his father and sister, but is propelled to conflict with them because of the imbalance.

@DentonKnight - they (by that Pablo Hidalgo) has made it pretty clear that they won't be using the term "grey jedi".
To be a Jedi you have to exclusively be in the light side + follow the Jedi Code.
To ustilse any part of the Darkside means you are not a Jedi.
Additionally, characters like Ahsoka and Maz aren't considered Jedi even though they only sue the Lightside because they don't follow the code (Ahsoka seeks to avenge anakin).
Currently in canon, the only thing that has utilised the light and the dark simultaneously has been the Bendu.

If they are going to explore the Balance of the Force (as the TLJ teaser trailer suggests) I expect it will be in terms of the Bendu view of balance.

@StormXmen123 - That's exactly what I've been saying, I don't use the term Grey Jedi.

Phil Noto is usually great but this is a pretty lacklustre poster IMO. I've seen him do Way better.
