It has been a long and bumpy road for
Solo: A Star Wars Story, but the journey is now complete. Taking to social media, director Ron Howard announced that post-production on the upcoming spinoff film has finally come to an end. All that's left to do is wait anxiously for everyone's favorite stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking Nerf herder to return to the big screen in a movie that will reveal the smuggler's backstory.
Howard, who took over directorial duties for
Solo following the departures of Chris Miller and Phil Lord, announced the milestone on Instagram along with a message that reads:
"That's a wrap on post production! #Solo @HanSoloStory #SkywalkerRanch Wow. What a movie-making adventure it's been! Thanks to a terrific cast & extraordinary folks behind the camera as well. You've worked so hard to fully realize this cool story. Hope fans have a blast! #May25"
Since taking over the director's chair, Howard has been pretty open with fans regarding the production of Solo. With so much drama surrounding the movie's production, it was refreshing to see Howard provide continuous behind-the-scenes peeks. Over the past few weeks, the director has been busy at Skywalker Ranch reviewing the visual effects while also mixing sound effects and music for the movie.
Hopefully the end result is something Star Wars fans will enjoy because it's certainly no easy task creating a movie for one of the most iconic characters in cinema history. Perhaps that is why Howard felt it necessary to reportedly reshoot most of the entire movie. Or maybe he just really wanted to include more Lando, because everyone seems to be going crazy over what little we've seen of Donald Glover's performance so far.
Solo: A Star Wars Story flies into theaters May 25, 2018.
