"Star Wars Rebels" continues the epic tradition of the legendary Star Wars saga with all-new exciting, action-packed adventures. It is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world. As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people. The clever and motley crew of the starship Ghost is amongst a select few who are brave enough to stand against the Empire. Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, encounter colorful adversaries, embark on thrilling adventures and become heroes with the power to ignite a rebellion.

Star Wars Rebels takes place between Star Wars: Episode III and IV as the Empire tightens its grip on the galaxy and a rebellion begins to form. Executive produced by Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Greg Weisman. The series is scheduled to premiere on October 3rd as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel and will be followed by a series on Disney XD beginning October 13th.

Ok. NONE of these Characters were in Episodes 4,5, and 6.

Which means things are going to end BAD for these Rebels come the final episode! :(

In Walmart, I saw a sign saying the 1 hour long SW: Rebels that premieres on the Disney channel will also be on DVD the same day.

3CP0 and R2 have really been overdone in all this prequel re-visualization stuff. Can't they just make up some new droids?

I see we have a lot of young hip folks here who don't understand and never will understand the significance and the legacy behind Star Wars. Star Wars is everywhere and is ingrained in pop culture, you can't hide from it and you can't get rid of it. Same with comics, it won't die out for a while because it's so integrated into our lives that we take it for granted. Hell, why don't we let comicbook characters die out? You know? Are they even relevant anymore? [frick] off assholes.

Well...as far as people asking if Star Wars is relevant, or asking when will the franchise die...I think they've answered their own questions. As long as people who claim to dislike it, or not care, still take the time to read articles about it and even comment on these articles, seems like it's pretty alive and well. Seems it's just another franchise kept vibrant by its apparent haters as much as its fans.
