Ever since Star Wars debuted in 1977, the franchise has pushed the limits of visual effects. Through the decades, Star Wars has remained at the forefront of visual technology, immersing us in stunning cinematic moments that are easy to take for granted these days. While we've grown accustomed to experiencing these grand, epic moments on the big screen, we forget how much work actually goes into bringing them to life.

Thankfully, we have a behind-the-scenes highlight reel from Industrial Light and Magic to remind us of how much work actually goes into creating the magic of Star Wars. The clip below offers us a glimpse into the making of The Last Jedi's bombing run from the beginning of the film.
Take a look behind the magic at the Oscar nominated Visual Effects of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. In this clip we see what kind of damage a single rebel can inflict on the empire.

As you can see, creating a film like Star Wars is no easy task. While the bombing run was certainly visually impressive, The Last Jedi had plenty more moments worth exploring the creation of. We'll get even more behind-the-scenes looks at the making of The Last Jedi when it releases on Digital HD, Blu-ray, and DVD next month.

But do they explain how those bombs can fall straight down in space instead of floating away?

Scene made no sense and only existed because Rian Johnson wanted to replicate world war bombers, no thought was put into the scene and no tension or connect to any of the characters was felt because it was the opening scene and we knew and cared about none of the bomber or fighter pilots.

Epic? Good god...it was another nonsensical choice in a nonsensical movie. Poor plotting and terrible, inconsistent characterization. The franchise has been heavily damaged by TLJ. I guess we'll find out whether that damage is irrevocable or not

Looks like no one is here to defend this scene. Good. We claim victory. Scene by scene, we will claim victory and one day, all will acknowledge The Last Jedi to be trash in it’s complete totality.
