SPIDER-MAN 4 May Now Be Released A Little Later Than Originally Reported

Following reports earlier this year that Spider-Man 4 is targeting a July 2024 release date, a new rumour suggests Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are considering a slightly later debut. Check it out!

It was previously reported that Spider-Man 4 will arrive in theaters in July 2024, but with Thunderbolts taking that slot following D23, the web-slinger's place in Phase 5 is a little less certain.

Sony Pictures has its fair share of Marvel movies heading our way over the next two years, of course, including two Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequels and live-action efforts such as Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web. Despite that, we have to believe they'd like to get another Spider-Man movie in theaters ASAP, especially after No Way Home's near-$2 billion success.

Tom Holland is believed to have signed up for another trilogy - along with appearances in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars - but we still don't have official confirmation.

Now, a reliable scooper has chimed in on where things likely stand with Spdier-Man 4, explaining that a Winter 2024/2025 release looks most likely.

Even in the wake of the pandemic, Spider-Man: No Way Home did massive numbers in December, though we can't imagine Marvel Studios or Disney pitting the wall-crawler against Avatar 3 (because that's a battle the Na'vi are unlikely to win).

We'll see what happens, but the wait for this movie is proving to be agonising. Director Jon Watts decided to take a break from the MCU after the threequal was released last December, hence why he passed on Fantastic Four. However, given enough time, perhaps he'll be more easily convinced to return for this fourth Spider-Man movie?

It's entirely possible Watts' return is exactly what's causing the holdup, especially as he's currently hard at work developing Star Wars: Skeleton Crew for Lucasfilm and Disney+.

Stay tuned for all the latest on Spider-Man 4 as we have it.
