The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

We've already unveiled a couple of these busts exclusively here on CBM, but our friends over at ASM Geekly Rewind have posted a fantastic set of photos from Diamond Select's display at the 2012 Toy Fair in New York.

Lizard looks like he's asking for a hug

Anytime I see The Lizard he just reminds me of a cross between something from a SyFY channel movie of the week and the baby from the original V series

I just hope I'm more convinced when I see some more actual footage of him in action.

I suddenly appreciate Sam Raimi's Green Goblin design a lot more.

I still say this version of The Lizard looks 100 times better than this damn version of Spider-Man's costume.

Wish there was a close up of the Lizard bust, looks good though! Might have to get the Spider-Man bust to go with my collections of busts. Boobies.

@ Hawks- YOU LOVE THE SUIT! ADMIT IT!

Though I am fine with the look Im still hoping that this is only mid transformation and not final. He looks more like Killer Croc than the Lizard.

lizard has good details but horrible overall design. Blame the film makers, i guess (unless its just mid-transform lizard...then all is forgiven :))

I like the little touch they have done on the Lizard's hands where his regrown limb has 4 fingers, shame about the face though.

The Lizard is growing on me. The only concern I have now revolves around the plot. Have they turned TAS into a revisioned Twilight saga? From the trailer I my spider sense picked up on that.
plasticman
plasticman - 2/13/2012, 1:24 PM
@ Nick56- Give it up, man. That could have been early test footage. It may not be feaseable or necessary to see him change that much anymore. Execs would love it though because it means more toys to sell, but you would have seen a mold of it somewhere else by now.

It's just like the World Trade Center footage that was removed after the initial trailer for Spiderman.
McGribble
McGribble - 2/13/2012, 1:30 PM
From the looks of it, the head does look like it can be removed. It would be interesting if they actually had several transformations for the figure.

@ plastic man what do u mean by " revisioned twilight saga?" only thing I can pick up is that Peter has a girl friend

I'm just as eager as anyone for this flick but that is still the butt-ugliest god damn Spider-Man suit I've ever seen. I don't just dislike it; I strenuously, strenuously dislike it.

I may just have to watch this flick with one thumb at the ready to block Spidey out every time he's on-screen.

i love the look of this movie from the suit to the lack of snout. it just is 'spiderman' to me in terms of everything. then again it is a trailer and green lantern trailers had me excited
Jacad
Jacad - 2/13/2012, 2:11 PM
like Aunt May said in the first film: "those eyes! those horrible, yellow eyes!" >_<

other than that, it's all good. Lizard looks cool, too.

"The Lizard sucks. He has no snout."
"The Lizard sucks. He doesn't wear a lab coat."
"Spider-Man's suit has too much blue. It sucks."

"Superman has a cod piece and his suit sucks."
"General Zod doesn't have a beard This movie will suck."
"Lois Lane is supposed to have DARK hair. This has ruined the movie."

"Bane's mask sucks."
"Bane is too small."
"I can't understand Bane."

GODDAMN, just sit back and enjoy a movie.

its now our fault hollywood cant make a good costume these days

Vital
Vital - 2/13/2012, 2:33 PM
@vince, we will. But that doesn't mean people don't like obvious changed that could easily be fixed. Is there a good reason to leave The Lizard snout-less? No. I'm hoping we will see the normal Lizard snout somewhere in the movie, otherwise, he just looks funky. Same with Bane. No one is going nuts over it, just looking at like 'hey, why are you changing their iconic look?' ya know? Bane is known for his mask, Lizard is known for his snout and lab coat.

bobevanz
bobevanz - 2/13/2012, 4:16 PM
Rest assured he will have a snout, why else would the comic-con footage show him with one ehh? i think its intelligent marketing by not revealing his final look, then when you all go watch it and that when it comes to that final showdown in the sewers, you shall see a true lizard.... aside from the labcoat XD p.s im so giddy to see parker actually be parker. andrew garfield is the perfect choice. bar none. also, would green goblin be in the sequel or the third? Gwen dying would be an intense denouement, but then again saving it for the third would make it all the crazier. Just plz dont kill your villains spidey, we wants some sorta sinster 3 or sumting ^_^

LeonardShelby - 2/13/2012, 4:20 PM
As bad as the Lizard is looking so far it still doesn't come close to Raimi's Goblin, that was terrible.
I still have high hopes for this adaptation, Raimi's films were too camp.
HulkbusterNYC
HulkbusterNYC - 2/13/2012, 4:49 PM
I agree that Green Goblin kinda sucked but unless they cgi'ed him completely there was no way he was gonna look good in a real world setting and still stay true to the comics.. But this Lizard/SleeStak/Goomba thing they got going on is absolutely ridiculous.. I can deal with no snout and no lab coat but the design is just plain SHiTTY!!
XxSnakeProxX
XxSnakeProxX - 2/13/2012, 4:52 PM
@vital
a snoutless lizard with a more human face can give a much better performance, and perhaps get the audience to feel more empathy towards him.you forget, this movie is going for more than a typical summer blockbuster/explosion-fest.

but im very disappointed to see how dense some people are,to get so disappointed about such a minor detail and claim the movie as "looking bad" because of it.no wonder hollywood doest listen to us fans.there are so many of you crying so loudly over such insignificant things.as if these long-running comic characters have ever stuck to 1 single view of the characters and stories.

i understand being upset about EVERYTHING being changed, especially when it isnt needed.but when its small things to bring about a better film, and in the case of the suit to better distinguish itself from the past trilogy,i see no reason to bitch, unless youre simply too childish to accept something that isnt exactly what you envision.

@VinceMcClain81: It's like you are reading my mind! Well said sir lol.

The only thing you left out is that Anne Hathaway is gross and her costume is crap :)
DCnerd46
DCnerd46 - 2/13/2012, 5:14 PM
It amazes me that people whine about the Lizard's movie look when Bane's ridiculous look in the new Batman flick is much more stupid & radically different than it needs to be. The Lizard looks fine.
hannay07
hannay07 - 2/13/2012, 6:19 PM
I will simply say what I have noticed most other people agree on, lizard looks like one giant bag of suck!! Still not to thrilled on spideys costume either.

Spidey costume sucks, but I still like the unmasked bust.
brewtownpsych
brewtownpsych - 2/13/2012, 7:34 PM
if this approximates the movie version i will be disappointed. it just looks so generic and CGI-y. then again, so does most modern sci fi, CGI bullshit - Splice, Underworld etc. But this is the worst of both worlds; generic CGI + campy retro look a la enemy mine, V the miniseries or land of the lost, etc.
