Can Tobey Maguire Play Another Big Superhero?

Can Tobey Maguire Play Another Big Superhero?

We all know him as Spider-Man from the Sam Rami trilogy, but could Toby Maguire perhaps play another superhero soon?

There is no rule that says that one actor can't play more than one comic book character. Chris Evans is a prime example of this. We all know Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker in Spider-Man, it is perhaps his most well known role. Now Tobey is not my favorite actor by any sense of the word. But he isn't my least favorite either. I was thinking about this the other day, and I thought, "Hey, wouldn't Tobey Maguire make a good Barry Allen?"

That's right, Barry Allen, aka The Flash. I think that there are many similarities between Peter Parker and Barry Allen, such as both being scientists that obtained their powers on accidental circumstances. Thus, I would think that Tobey isn't that bad in the role, considering he partially played the role in Spider-Man 1. I say partially because it was only in the beginning of that movie that Peter was portrayed as a nerdy, awkward, anti-socialite. Thus, with the rumored Flash movie up ahead, could Tobey Maguire pull it off? I would actually think so.

What do you guys think? Agree, Disagree? Feel free to respond. And follow me on Twitter @DRammouni. Thank You.

Nah he was good for the Spiderman at the time. Let someone else take on Barry.

Also in terms of age for the JL I think it should go like this (oldest to youngest):
-Martian Manhunter
-Batman (based off of comments from WB)
-Superman and Aquaman
-Wonder Woman
-Barry and Hal

He's a decent actor but I think he's not a good choice for The Flash. Brothers was a good film and it showed that he can act and I have to agree with one comment up there that he might be a good villian instead of a hero.

I actually think he'd make a decent Otto Octavius in a couple of years. :D he's short and chubby... just like Otto.

No. He wasn't even that good as spider-man after the first one. Maybe it was just the fact they had him cry to much.

Spider-Man and Flash are similar so it's not bad why you could see Tobey as Flash.

But I would prefer someone younger.

Ehhh...why not? He looks the part, anyway. If this were to actually happen, though, I would hope his acting has gotten better since 2007. It really sucked.

"There's no rule that says one actor can't play more than one comic book character."-

There should be. With so many great talent out there, I have always always always hated seeing roles going to the same people. As if producers don't even bother looking. Was Chris Evans good as both Human Torch and Captain America? Sure. But there are others who could have been just as great. Did Ryan Reynolds need to be in Blade and Wolverine and Green Lantern? Not really. Daredevil is Batman, Storm is Catwoman- call it my movie thing I get weird about. Everybody's got one

Tobey was great as Spidey but as for Flash, I'd like to see Neil Patrick Harris tackle the role.

He couldn't play the one he did get. He was an abysmal Peter Parker, and the only thing that saved him as Spidey was that when he was in the suit on film we couldn't see his face.
