Dane DeHaan Calls THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Script "Epic" And "Human"

Speaking with Collider while promoting The Place Beyond The Pines, actor Dane DeHaan talks briefly about The Amazing Spider-Man 2, in which he plays Harry Osborn. He will soon join the currently shooting set of the anticipated sequel, and he had this to say about the script (which was written by James Vanderbilt, Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Jeff Pinkner). "It’s awesome. It really is. It’s human and it’s deep and it’s also epic and still a huge superhero movie. But it all makes sense and it all comes from very human elements and I think people are really going to love it." Sounds good to me. He also expresses his excitement for again working with Chris Cooper, who was recently cast as Norman Osborn. "I’m so excited! I made my first movie ever with Chris Cooper. In a way, it’s all come full circle. I have mad respect for Chris Cooper. He’s just amazing." Stay tuned to CBM for more news as we have it.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Felicity Jones, Chris Cooper and Sally Field. The film is set to hit theaters May 2nd, 2014.

@marvel72 but Star Trek is a very well written film and hopefully into darkness will be the same, mi3 is a good film as well. transformers 1&2 are bad but I'd put those movies sucking down to Michael bay, because he really changes the scripts to his liking in his movies.

That's cool but honestly has there ever been an actor to say "Man this script sucks" while they are still filming the movie ? First one was good not great and I expect the second one to be much much better now that we have his "origin" out of the way and can get on to better stories.

Im really looking forward to this, the 1st one was pretty good, I thought it was the best spiderman movie so far, Garfield is a pitch perfect Parker, Stone was good, martin sheen was great as per usual hell even the terrible Hicks rip off o'leary was fine. My biggest beef with TAS was the lizard I dont think they pulled it off I didnt like the look of it and thought they couldve done more to make it much more frightening and threatening and I think Ifans was a bad choice. However almost every other aspect of the film was spot on Spiderman looks better, fights better, is cocky better and is a teenager better. Webb did a great job.

@ Cholefornication
I don't remember almost every actor that signed on for TASM praising it's script, hell the script wasn't even mentioned in interviews, usually the only times it was mentioned was when there were rewrites, like Protogoblin being written out. I don't remember there being any praises of it, especially from Andrew and Emma, and Dehaan is a new actor just signed on, interviewing for a different movie that has nothing to do with Sony. He didn't have to mention the script, he could have just said "I'm so stocked to be in it".

@ Levit
One of the writers from Lost and Fringe is also having a hand in writing the script.

Would like TASM2 to be great. Hope Webb learns from his TASM mistakes and delivers. He has a great cast & the latest cgi technology at his disposal which means the only variables for lameness are the script & direction.

Maybe if this is actually any good, some fans will realize just how mediocre TASM was, having now something better to hold on to. But I have a good feeling about this one.
