Denis Leary Talks The Amazing Spider-Man And Hints At The Ending?

The actor behind George Stacy in Sony's reboot The Amazing Spider, Denis Leary speaks on his role, and keeps quite on the suspected fate of his character in the film. Check it out!

Denis Leary, the actor portraying "George Stacy", father Emma Stone's "Gwen Stacy" in Marc Webb's much-anticipated film The Amazing Spider-Man, recently chatted with MTV. And tight-lipped on speculation of his character's fate in the reboot, when questioned of it, his answer may hint at the film's ending.

"I'm not allowed to say anything about the ending of 'Spider-Man' — or the ending of 'Rescue Me,' " he told us at the opening festivities for the Tribeca Film festival. "It's verboten! I can't tell you!"

Leary himself didn't dive back into the "Spider-Man" vaults for research purposes, reading up on his character's history. Instead he relied on the knowledge of both helmer Marc Webb and the webslinger's creator.

"I just really spent a lot of time with the director and I got some information from Stan Lee and the guys at Marvel," he told MTV News. "It's the first time I got to play a comic book guy."

So, did Leary just reveal that the funeral scene, which the very first set images surrounded, takes place at the end of the movie? And is the funeral in question for his 'George Stacy' character? What do you think?

Anyhow, with leading star Andrew Garfield, look for The Amazing Spider-Man in theaters July 3, 2012!

Lol he didn't say anything...how can he have revealed anything?

But really, if it's already obvious that he's going to die, then there's really nothing to hide.
Don't play coy Leary, we're on to you >.>

if he does die they going to have everyone blaming Spider-Man for the death of George Stacy. so this can introduce The Prowler in the sequel and having the character been convinced that Spider-Man was involved somehow in the death of George Stacy like in the comics.

@marvel72

but then again the funeral could be Ben Parker all over again.

He doesn't know what to say because Bill Hicks isn't around anymore haha, didn't his character get killed by Doc Ock anyway?

^^exactly^^

this movie is gonna be great, though :) the casting is just about perfect. I hope Webb inserts a little of Spidey's sense of humor, its a part of the character and it was sorely lacking in the Raimi films.

agree @PaulRom that's probably what's going to happen...

Two things wrong with this film:

1. being made by sony
2. having him play spiderman:

@TheIntruder

thats a sick poster.

@marvel72

yeah the origin all over again. but this origin should be better cause it does focus more on Parker been a school kid and a hero at the same time. the other movies never really did that the first place.

@Ranger14 It could be a leap, that's why I put a question mark in the headline....but heres the situation.

Question: Can you talk about the fate of George Stacy from the "funeral" set pics?

Answer: I'm not allowed to say anything about the ending of 'Spider-Man'

Why would he bring up the ending of the movie, when questioned about his fate. But again, it could be a stretch.

@wards

he just has a feeling not everyone like Batman.

TDKR could also flop i mean not all 3rd movie from the series successed. TDKR has alot to prove us wrong.

@TheIntruder

i agree some people are riding on Nolan d!ck too damn hard. i love Nolan work for Batman movies and his other movies but some people here are just riding his d!ck.

Cannot wait to see him in the SPIDERMAN film and also before he was casted to play Gwen Stacy's father George. I also casted him to play the villain in "THE FLASH" film to play Professor Zoom

yes the real spiderman ...with the worst suit i have seen next to batnipples.

nice poster by the way too bad to make him look cool you have shadow him the [frick]up , i guess in the movie we will only see him wear it at night caus it only looks decent in the shadows.

@TheIntruder

i believe TDKR will be great but it will make Inception type of money. its true tho without the iconic Joker it might not make TDK money. if TDKR makes the same amount of TDK or more then Nolan has made one of the greats shock in comic book movie history.

The Amazing Spider-Man has potential to be great. but it does have alot against since alot people i.e. general public who has not been follow the process of the movie might not expect a Spider-Man reboot.

anyway i watched Thor today in the UK and it was frick great :p

well i believe it will make Inception money you want when WB will promote that movie it will be mad crazy.

@DCMarvelFreshman - Dude, I normally like all your articles and in general, all the articles on the main are usually great. However, can we stop with the practice of putting potentially spoilerish descriptions in the main heading of the article or on the description immediately below the heading?

I mean, this one you just talked about a suspected death of a character. In the recent Cap filming in New York articles, the poster hinted they were doing the after credits scene with Nick Fury, etc.

Is it just me or is this practice really annoying as it can spoil potential elements of the movie for us. Can't you just put the heading as "Denis Leary speaks about his role as cop or whatever he is in the Amazing Spider-man". Likewise, couldn't the poster of the Cap article just say "Chris Evans seen in New York touching up some scenes for Captain America: First Avenger". Then it doesn't become potentially spoilerish immediately upon loading the main news page.

ELgUaSoN LOL I wouldn't be surprised if they do so as well.

@Indestruktible Aplogies, yeah I can see that being a bit anoying. I'll try my best to keep it clean in the future.

@ theintruder

i agree with you,the two comic book movies i'm most looking forward to are the avengers & the amazing spider-man.

tim burtons batman's are better than nolans.

for many reason from the look of gotham,the batmobile,the costume,no stupid throat cancer voice,the music,actually being referred to as the batman & so on.

@ jazzman

thor-did you like it & is better than iron man.

i'm going wednesday with some non comic book fans but like comic book movies.

@JacksonVegaIII Why is Dennis Leary famous? Because there's no cure for cancer.
I don't mean the Leary album, I mean cause Hicks died of cancer, and Leary got away with stealing his act.

@marvel72

watched Thor in 3D i know i said im going to watch it in 2D but guess what happen i paid for 2D but the Cinema screen and sound for Thor 2D was f**ked so the manager at the cinema said we can watch Thor in 3D instead and we dont have to pay extra :P. but anyway everyone in the cinema loved Thor including myself. the 3D convertion is actually good but nothing special better of watching it in 2D to be honest. the actors was solid, Kat Dennings as Darcy she was their for the comic relief but the movie had alot of humor that worked well in the movie if she was not in the movie it would not make any different imo plus the action was good and this movie has alot of easter egg you and everyone will freak out :P. it was great its not better than Iron Man 1 imo but to me it feels like its on the same level of The Incredible Hulk which i also loved.

anyway overall i give the movie 4.5 out of 5 might watch it again this week cause that movie was alot of funny to watch. i did not even watched Iron Man 2 twice at the cinema but Thor i will watch again lol.

p.s. DAMN U LOKI

@MovieTheaterLad

let see it looked more like Power Ranger villian.

William Defoe was great but the suit was not great imo
