Recently Donald Glover revealed in an interview that he was done campaigning for the role of Spider-Man. But now in an interview for the Lazarus Effect Glover would not confirm or deny discussions for the role. "I can't say I'm the next Spider-Man," he said. But when asked if he wasn't the next Spider-Man, he responded. "I can't say that either. I mean, it's not out yet."

Later in the interview he comments on how well he could portray the wall-crawlimg hero saying, "I personally think I would be amazing, like 'The Amazing Spider-Man,'"

Whether or not Glover does get the role, he shares the same sentiments as other fans of the webhead saying he just wants the next films"to be good."

Marvel, don't do anything weird with Spider-Man that is likely to backfire on you. Just give us Peter Parker.

So sick of these "won't confirm or deny" quotes being called news. His latest comments indicated that he won't be playing the character, so that's what we should go after.

You know what, since we are doing this now, let's just have Gusto play Spider-Man. He'd be perfect.

Peter first and then introduce Miles later, that would be less complicated I feel.

I think it's the best Spidey film.

White Peter please and thanks. I won't take any casting rumour seriously until it happens, but casting an enthic Spider-Man is pandering for the sake of pandering.

And then at Comic-Con, the director is asked why Donald Glover wasn't cast as adult Miles Morales, and the director responds with "Who?"

Thus ensuring a riot breaks out at the San Diego Convention Center.

@Malakas The first one? I'd agree with you, while it retread a lot of ground, it had a unique charm, and much better romance than the original trilogy. I feel like it will age well.

The second one was Spider-Man 3 all over again. Not truly awful garbage, but thoroughly mediocre.

Agreed.Everything you said.

And it's the first one that makes me sad that we get another reboot. It was so unique.

Why should Donald say anything? People will do it for him. It's all about playing the game. Donald can keep his hands clean.

@Malakas Sadly, that's what studio interference gets you. I would be really interested to read the draft of the script given to Garfield and co....he seemed so excited by it, and yet in interviews post-release, his comments indicated this major excising of scenes...it just seemed so strange.
