Glamour have an interview with the beautiful star of The Amazing Spider-Man, and while the majority of the interview didn't touch upon her role in the upcoming reboot, there was still a couple of interesting bits of information for us comic book fans.

Do you think you’ll go to college?

There’s so much I’m interested in that I didn’t discover in high school. For The Amazing Spider-Man, because Gwen is a scientist, we went to a lab in San Diego, and we were learning about biology. And I’m fascinated! Because I never went to biology class in high school. [Laughs.]

You also have The Amazing Spider-Man coming up next.

It's different than anything else I’ve done. There’s a lot of blue screen. The other day I was reacting to a thing that wasn’t there. It’s like being a kid in a refrigerator box.



With an all star cast that includes Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben and Sally Field as Aunt May, The Amazing Spider-Man is set to be released in 3D on July 3, 2012!

Scientist? Lame. This is the only CBM I'm not currently looking forward to. I hope it'll be good... Maybe the trailers will sell me more on this.

@dragonking555 Yeah her and Peter actually met at Empire State, both their majors were science,and they bonded over their mutual fascination with it.
They even included elements of that in the Raimi films.
I also don't understand how making a cbm that is close to the source is a bad thing?
Makes you wonder if the people complaining about it have actually read the comics.

Better than Dunst! I think Raimi got kinda screwed by Sony and Avi Arad since they forced Goblin on him for film 1 and Venom for 3. 2 was the best film and had heart and a good story & best villain (Sandman was awesome but the film was too messy). I hope this reboot works as well.

I like Gwen better than MJ and Lizard should be a better villain on screen. I hope we eventually get Mysterio and Electro before they do Goblin again. I don't want Harry again either. No reason to reboot to do the same stuff.

I'm pretty sure that by "scientist" she was merely implying that her character has a strong passion for science. It's her thing. She's a still a student, not a scientist by profession. Learn to read between the lines, cranky dickholes.

lol @Dragon Its like all of the Ultimate fan boys, ( and i am one) have never read anything from 616. One of the main reasons i like the Ultimate universe is because i've always read 616 till about a year ago. it can be refreshing.

@CapFan I'm with you about harry, but i think he should have a little cameo like kitty pride did in X-1. I think he's to important a character to completely ignore.

One word to describe Emma....Gorgeous! I can't wait to see her as Gwen. However, BDH was sizzling as Gwen and I would be her lab partner anytime. :)

@Super......Blue screens and green screens work under the same principle, they are called Chroma Keys, they add in things in post production to give us a feeling they are together. So her reacting to a CGI lizard seems to be the case

FYI....I'm STOKED!!!! now knowing that we are seeing the Lizard on screen, granted its a different actor but the Lizard is one of my top favorite Spider-man villains. Curt is a victim of circumstances and despite his intentions its the reptilian brain working....as I mentioned the library scene better be awesome with the Lizard stealthily preying on Spider-man and him dodging and weaving around him

There is a BIG difference between being a science major, and an actual scientist. For you less informed, Uh, I was a real science nerd in school, heck majored in it. That doesn't make me Fermi, or Einstein, or Heisenberg.

@RacerREX As wade pointed out, the ACTRESS Emma Stone was using the word in a broad sense.
This version takes place in high school. So obviously the FICTIONAL CHARACTER Gwen Stacy, is most likely not a professional scientist.
You see as Emma Stone is a real life person, she makes small mistakes like that. It doesn't mean the character is anymore than a brilliant student, at a science high school(as that one set photo suggests).

Also, why do you have such a hostile attitude?
You do realize that you can argue without purposely offending people?

That would just make it a fact.
You offend people by being a complete dick, to be honest.

Also, no need to take it literally. What Emma Stone probably means is that Gwen wants to be a scientist. And I think just as in Spectacular Spidey, she will intern for Dr Connors
