With an all star cast that includes Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben and Sally Field as Aunt May, The Amazing Spider-Man is set to be released in 3D on July 3, 2012!

Its a new trend now huh? Superman and here. The characters who are played usually by older people are getting younger. I'm cool with it as long as she still has that very "Aunt May" feel to her.

But I really can't judge from a pic of her walking.

She looks perfectly fine to me. The Aunt May in the comic books is older, but is no longer the naive, frail old woman she used to be, so casting a younger actress to play the character is fine in my book. I look forward to seeing a slightly different take on her this time. Plus, Field is 64...it's not as if she's in her 40's, and Sheen is only six years older anyway!

What a great casting choice. Sally Field always reminded me of my mom, so her being Peter's mother figure is really awesome to me.

Guys, it's 2011. EVERYONE'S GETTING YOUNGER! I think that this is a bold move. It's time that Aunt May looks like that she can handle some crap. Not fall on the floor, break her hip "and can't get up".

Sally Field looks too young to be Aunt May, even the Ultimate version. We don't need her as a withered old crone who's pushing 100 and looks like every minute of it, but she should at least look a little older than in that picture. Use the Ultimate Aunt May as a guide for how to make Aunt May look a bit younger and less frail, but still keep her looking like an Aunt May.

Sally Field is 64 years old. I think that’s entirely old enough to play the AUNT of Peter Parker. She is not Peter’s Grandmother.

Don't necessarily see why Spiderman needed a reboot. If any movie series NEEDED a reboot it's that atrocious flaming car-wreck of an X-Men franchise!! Sam Raimi actually did a fantastic job with the Toby McGwire films. Sure there were some major departures and the third movie should never have happened at all, but there was no problem with the first two films.
