Frontrunners To Direct Marvel's SPIDER-MAN Reboot Revealed
It wasn't too long ago that we found out about the filmmakers Marvel were considering for their Spider-Man reboot, but it's now down to two! However, a surprising new candidate has also emerged.
We still don't know who will play Spider-Man (though Asa Butterfield and Tom Holland are still thought to be the frontrunners), but the hunt for a director does now appear to be nearing its end. According to Deadline, the favourites are Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies) and Ted Melfi (St Vincent), and whoever ends up being picked will likely be attached to direct a number of movies as they apparently explore Peter Parker's high school life over the course of three to four movies.
However, the site adds that Vacation reboot writers/directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein are also still in contention. The new contender is Jon Watts, a commercials director who recently made his features debut with Sundance hit Cop Car starring Kevin Bacon. The final decision will be down to Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, and new Sony boss Tom Rothman. It's not clear whether the chosen director will also write the movie. Who would you guys like to see direct Spider-Man?
