Is This Our First Glimpse Of Rhys Ifans' Transformation Into The Lizard?

Covered from head to toe in order not to reveal his identity, it would appear that The Amazing Spider-Man actor has been spotted in an image which shows the first practical make-up effects of his transformation into the Lizard...

Pink is the New Blog have posted the following image which they claim is Welsh actor Rhys Ifans. While there's obviously no way of knowing for sure, it's clear that there are some sort of scaly green make-up effects around the eyes of the actor covered from head to toe in order to shield their appearence. This brings us the question of whether Curt Connors transformation is one that takes place slowly or possibly that these are the live action effects used before the switch to CGI.

With an all star cast that includes Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben and Sally Field as Aunt May, The Amazing Spider-Man is set to be released in 3D on July 3, 2012!

If that's how he's going to look in the movie, then count me out. The Lizard has always been one of my favorite Spidey villains. He's not supposed to look like some human/lizard love-child. He supposed to look like something straight out of Jurassic Park!!

Maybe that is a green screen type of thing on his face so they can add the CGI effects later. Or it is Connors hiding his his tranformation.

@indoraptor12: His transformation will clearly be a slow process, not just him transforming instantly. I'm guessing it COULD play out like this = Connors does the experiment and begins to notice some side effects. Throughout the movie, people (especially Peter) begin to notice until...BAM!

Aside from the suit, I am pretty pumped for this film, things are looking good. I am sure that he's just getting a bit scaly :P not yet the Lizard though, that will obviously all be in CGI. (maybe)

If you do look close enough, it seems perhaps that they are giving it a THE FLY treatment, where the transformation is slow and progressive and then it finally takes over and he becomes this creature. I'm super curious at this Movie...not only does it look like they are getting it RIGHT this time in terms of looking like the real deal.....This may be a conspiracy theory but I do believe that Disney has a small stake in this film.....I bet there is some of the House Of Mouse money going into this

it looks like they are doing it right, with a humaniod lizard straight out of the original comics, standing up right, no snout, pretty cool for me, and indoraptor12, lizard was never supposed to look like that, you are confused with ultimate lizard not 616 lizard

Good thing they are at least they're trying to hide what he Lizard looks like for as long as possible. I don't think they should reveal his look till the trailer itself. And even then they should only show parts were he isn't fully transformed. I highly doubt it'll happen but I do hope his complete Lizard look isn't seen at all. Until the movie comes out of course.

Well, hopefully pics don't get leaked of the full Lizard.
