Jared Leto's time as The Joker in The DC Films Universe may well be over, but he's currently sinking his teeth into another sinister comic book character, this time as the lead in Sony's
Morbius movie.
The Academy Award-winning actor has taken to Instagram to share a new behind-the-scenes look at his character, Michael Morbius - a brilliant biochemist who becomes a vampiric antihero after injecting himself with a serum derived from bats in an attempt to cure a rare blood disease.
The short teaser for the
Spider-Man spinoff is accompanied by the quote:
"Because no one else will walk this path...this place of shadows, where we do what must be done, no matter the cost. #MORBIUS"
This doesn't show us a whole lot more than some recently leaked set photos did, but it's nice to get a new official look at the character - even if he still hasn't fully transformed into The Living Vampire yet.
Morbius is being directed by Daniel Espinosa from a script by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama. The movie also stars Jared Harris, Matt Smith and Adria Arjona in undisclosed roles.
