SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Stills Reveal An Intriguing Change To Doctor Octopus' Arms And More

New stills from Spider-Man: No Way Home reveal an interesting change to Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus. Plus, what is Peter Parker doing in Doctor Strange's Sanctum Santorum basement?

Some new hi-res stills from Spider-Man: No Way Home have surfaced on social media that show a key change to Doctor Octopus' four extra arms. Instead of the gold/green color scheme used in 2004's Spider-Man 2, these are red; does that confirm this is a Variant Doc Ock rather than the one Alfred Molina played on the big screen seventeen years ago?

That would be one way for Marvel Studios to reintroduce bad guys like Otto Octavius, Electro, and the Green Goblin with new looks that better fit the aesthetic of modern superhero films (or in the case of Max Dillon and Norman Osborn, actually give them vastly superior costumes).

We can't share the images here, but you can check them out on Twitter (via @backupleaks).

The shot of Spider-Man and MJ doesn't tell us much, but appears to have been lifted from that early scene in the film which picks up right where Spider-Man: Far From Home ended. Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange can also be seen hanging out outside the Sanctum Sanctorum.

However, it's that intriguing shot of an unmasked Spider-Man in his fellow Avenger's basement we need to take a closer look at. If the rumors are true, this could be where Strange is keeping the villains who have found their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe via the Multiverse.

Why is Peter interacting with them, though? We'll find out on December 17.

Interested to see Molina and Dafoe back as Ock and Goblin respectively, but let's be honest the only reason they're bringing them back is because Sony wouldn't let Marvel use Kraven.

I think maybe he upgrades the arms after he destroys the Iron Spider suit. Strips the suit for parts and upgrades the tentacles.

I really hope they pull off the Variant thing well, because it's such a double-edge sword. for starters it would explain why some of these guys are even alive again but at the same time since they're not technically the one and same from back then means we could lose some attachment to them. I guess we'll see.
granted, I'm just BS-ing, for all we know these minor changes are just aesthetic and have no story reason whatsoever.

If you see, in the picture he holds Spider-man by the head the arms are the old colour. I suspect that he absorbs the nanites from the Iron Spider suit in some way.

If you look closely, they are also changed a little in shape between the two pictures, so imho he integrated the nanites in the arms (that would make a lot of sense for a mad scientist like Otto, actually)

There is theory going around that Ock actually integrates Stark technology from the Iron Spider to his tentacles.

@Alkazam - I may walk out if Tony Stark is involved in the story in any tangible way

@SpideyPuffsMJ - calm down, he's just taking Peter's stuff from the suit, ALLEGEDLY.
